VeloxideX - when you say many people never get past 100 pills, do you mean in terms of some using regularly over a short period, or in people that take care to use in moderation and supplement with vitamins/5HTP? I like to think I take good care of myself as far as ecstasy goes, never rolling more than once every 2 months and always supplementing after a night out. I don't like the idea that I may only have 10-20 good pills in me before the magic is lost... :(

It's hard to say when the users quit, because there's never been a study into it AFAIK. All that we know is that most people quit somewhere between 20 and 100 pills.

Postloading and good breaks can extend that period, one would hope.

No-one knows what causes loss of magic; we can only speculate that good pilling practices can postpone or prevent it.

I know it may sound a little psycho, but until a year ago, I used to keep a log of how many pills I've done, what type they were, and the type of experience it was. I stopped at 148. It was actually beneficial because when you think you're moderate, you don't realize how they add up over even a short period of time. My first year alone my total came to just under 50 although the individual doses were never over 2 to 3 for the whole night. It was a funny thing because 90 percent of the time, it was spontaneous. When you don't plan on doing them beforehand, it makes you feel like you're even more moderate than when you plan to. I'd be out with my friends and someone would just show up with some pills and say "Hey, I got some extra, want 'em?"

You've got a good point. I've only ever had two serious binges, and for the most part my usage has been moderate -- 2 pills, sometimes 3 a night.

I kept a log, and stopped at around 160 or so. They really do add up quite quickly.

Even if you're only doing 2-3 in one sitting, and every third week, that still adds up to 50 a year.

When I first started years ago I rolled on average 4 times a week eating anywhere from 4 to 15 pills a night I did this for 6-8 months straight.
Wow. Did you have a job or were you in school during that time? How i'm curious on how you did that and still managed to do either or...

I use very often too, but err... I wanna cut down, cuz... 2 friends of me who don't use a thing said like "ur face is really becoming skinnier and skinnier, like ur cheeks are snapped against ur teeth"
"Don't wanna insult u but u seriously look like shit, like a drugjunky, 4 real"

That really hit me hard, I was on speed comedown when they said so it really stroke me in the heart :D
I have to cut down
I have to cut down
I have to cut down
I have to cut down
I have to cut down
will i be able to????? :S :S :S :S

If you want to keep your brain, keep to a rigorous pre and post load regime.
I'd even suggest taking vitamins generally, even when you haven't got the intention of taking drugs. Most people are deficient these days - i was and i used to get dreadfully scattered.. This was massively minimised by making vitamins part of my daily routine.

I think it depends on the person. I have met a few people that described their usage as heavy and I could definitely tell they had been fucked up by it. Mentally slow, very distant when once quite friendly, suffering from depression etc etc. Although in some cases it was hard to tell if such negative effects were solely a result of their mdma usage or abuse of other drugs as well. However I have a few friends who went quite hard with pills and various other drugs but are completely fine. Me personally during my heaviest usage period I was doing 2 - 3 pills most weekends for maybe a 6 month period. At the time I was noticing a lot of negative side effects such as depression and feeling mentally slow. But as soon as I slowed things down to once or two a month I felt fine.

I think it's naive to think that mdma can't cause long term side effects. Weather that be physical or phycological. But I do believe long term negative effects can definitely be overcome by living a healthy lifestyle and taking better care your self.

Its def. different from person to person, my memory and general brain function is out the window. Its so bad to the point where i can go and see a gig, and all the memory i have is that i know i went there, and then a few small things in there, eg. a little bit of memory from when i was talking to a hot chick. And this is when i go out sober!

My life is a mess, i'm always forgeting stuff and sometimes i can't string a sentence together, i also zone out from time to time and minutes will go in a blink of a sec. (almost crashed my car because of it)

So, if u are going to take pills do small tests on yourself from time to time, if u feel like u are cooking your brain like i did, please stop. because u, like me are 1 of the unlucky 1's

I'm just dreading whats install for me, i'm only 20, i think its all downhill from here :(

I've been doing pills on average at least once a fortnight for about 4 years.

Have had my stages of going out every week, and the odd month gap. Have also had stages where I've taken 10+ pills on a night out but now rarely take more than 5.

Appart from feeling scattered for 3-4 days after a heavy session I still feel 'normal'.

I have mates whove done them for 10+ years and appear fine.

who knows!!??

all people that abuse ecstacy. (people that use too much for too long) get bad effects for the rest of life. if you cange your brain then you would probably get effected by it right?

Dpuff -- that's the question isn't it. MDMA can be neurotoxic at sufficiently high doses; the question is whether it can alter your brain structure sufficiently to affect you at sensible recreational doses.

do you think it was from combinations of drugs maybe? i see you have lsd as part of your name. i took mushies occasionally, but never frequently. besides that just small pharms, pot, etc. Never did coke back then (not that i do much now), or anything else that was relatively strong like the E was

Yeah i used other drugs, but i've used them for years, only after x use did i start to get these major problems.
However as far as combo's go, weed and speed both seem to increase the damage done. Even though weed and mdma is a great combo (nos and mdma is pure bliss :P ) it seemed to mess me up more.

I have been using pills for 14 years. The first 7 years I used to have a lot of pills on both friday and saturday and the last 7 years I did pills 5 times a year. To be honest, nothing special happened to me, but I have to admit, somtimes I am tired even when I slept well.

baileylsd I'm curious how much E you did?

There was a time when I noticed definite mental slowness. Just as you described I sometimes had trouble structuring sentences etc. But that was a while ago when I was doing E quite frequently. Now days I have no such problems. Maybe you just need to give you brain/mind time to recover.

Ive stopped using pills as often as i did i feel a lot better for it. More switched on in general, sharper, happier.

I went through about 8 months of using every two weeks or so using 2-5 per session.

Now 1 good pill does the job, and im not really bothered about doding that anymore.

I found it takes a a couple of months to start noticing the benifits. Im very skeptical about people who do a lot for a signficant period of time and claim it does no damage.

2,014 pills in less than ten years. I don't do them anymore, but yeah. I can still think fine, and have only had three anxiety attacks, and each weaker than the last since I stopped. I have problems with memory, but that's the desert heat here.

Yes, I'm strange I kept count, and have written about almost every time down in a log type thing. Just to record the evolution of my mind, and the such, and when I die, I plan on leaving my brain to science to study. ;)

I dont think excessive drug use is something to congratulate. Nevertheless I've used a large number of pills, perhaps too large, and I'm taking a break at the moment. I feel my brain is fairly intact. My marks certainly haven't dropped more than I would expect depending on other factors (e.g. how much I don't like the subject)
