Anyone else hate suboxone?

This is the most fucking itchy opiate I've ever tried. That's pretty much the only thing I hate about it.

I took buprenorphine for pain management, and it really fucked me up. I nodded out everytime i took 4 to 6mg (snorted everytime cause i hated the taste in my mouth). My tolerance was much less than most of you though...

And the antagonist in it gave me headaches too...

I was RX'd four 8mg suboxone a day. They did nothing for me at all. Did nothing for the cravings, did nothing for my mood or anxiety like some people. And everytime I used them to withdrawal from other opiates they threw me into protracted withdrwals even waiting two or three days.

I knew girls that would suck dick for this stuff, and when i had a car people would pay me like $5 for one.and I just threw out about 300 of them..am i crazy?

I am not activley addicted to opiates right now but i sure wish i could feel this bliss.. but im being drug tested now.

I was on MMT for two weeks, i was high as the sky, my pain was gone, and my depression was whipped away.

I think I would jump back on it because it legal but i don't have the money or transportation. Plus people told me the good feeling goes away in a month and it would suck if it became like an expensive suboxone that you would have to go and dose everyday. If they did what they did for me in the two weeks I could see myself becoming an active member of society, get a job, and maybe go back to school..yah for opiates.

It just sucks i don't think i can function without opiates. they give me social courage, motivation, a reason to get up and do thing. without them i sit around and feel like sleeping all day.

whoa dude well i know right away why you hated suboxone so much... Its because some stoopid ass doctor prescribed and told you to take "4 8mg Suboxones a day", dude thats WAY WAY WAY TOO much and way way too much of suboxone seems to have that 'opposite' effect on our opiate receptors and it actuallly seems to be like its working against the patient trying to "Get on the Sub train" which i admit was even hard for me to get on it when i was comin off my lil OC stint and i Remember the first time i took subs and i had waited a good 24hrs sense my last dose and was in w/d's so i took 1mg, then 30mins later another 1mg slice. So that puts me at 2mgs and i will admit when i first toook the subs i started to sweat bullets and was freakin out so i went and took a hot shower and got out and about 45 to an hour after i took the 2mgs of sub i was back on my feet from low to normal yes normal.. basically LESS = MORE RELIEF when it comes to suboxone, its a very unusual opioid and needs to be studied by the patient who takes the drug and don't rely on your doctor to help you cuz im telling you right now that if you have an opiate addiction then you already know more then the doctor by knowing what 'WITHDRAWALs' REALLY feel like. basically dude just stick to a low dose, maybe the first week you may need 6-8mgs a day AT MOST! dont ever take more then 8mgs otherwise your entering high dose = shitty feel terr%) itory.

Ugh..

I hate Buprenorphine for a variety of reasons. Suboxone maintanence was just as self destructive as illicit Heroin. Methadone > Buprenorphine in my book anyday.

Getting high on Subutex is the new global craze. Tem-Tem's (Temgesic and Temazepam shots) and so on. The pissheads and micks and Caucaus mountain people really love it.

Please don't spew racism in here. I don't even know who the hell you're talking about, but I'm sure someone could be offended by this, heh.

Holy shit, I didnt even realize he was taking 32mg a day. Thats ridiculous. I guarantee he would have been MUCH better with something like 8mg.

Of course you hated it at 32mg. Its much more antagonistic at such high doses.

32mg? Jesus Lord.

My friend who shot a bundle of dope a day used to get well of 4mg.

Try something like 2-4mg, see how it treats you, and keep the rest for a rain day or sell it. Wow.

32mg is not so high if taken sublingually (as it is supposed to). The bioavailability is much lower compared to shooting or snorting.

I fucking love it. Though it doesn't motivate me at work, or for anything at that matter, I still love it. When I'm at working feeling like shit, i'll take a bit and feel good as new. I've been on it for 4 months now, and though the occasional headaches suck, I can't complain. I did love methadone much better though, it made me want to work all the time, clean everything, on sub, i'm too lazy to even pick up the clothes off the floor in my room.

The only really bad experience I had while on it, was a year before I actually started taking it. I was into drugs at the time, and couldn't get the normal oxys, so I took sub, and though I've done it before this time was quite different--I snorted 8mg, and all of a sudden I was high as a kite. I didn't have any problems with that, until I couldn't swollow my own spit, at all. I couldn't feel my throat, and I had to drink a sip of water to swollow, maybe because that way I wasn't thinking about it too much. It freaked me out and I never touched it again until May.

But none the less, I'm greatful to be able to take it.

32mg is a gigantic dose of suboxone. Sublingual bioavailability is irrelevant. Thats the highest dose I have ever heard of anyone being prescribed. I don't think even the worst of doctors would prescribe more than that. Not for safety/liability reasons, but because around that dosage, it begins to have antagonistic effects and work against itself. Taking more than 32mg sublingually is foolish.

That is why everybody is recommending that he takes much, much less. Suprisingly, a low dose like 4-8mg will probably work, whereas 32mg did not.

Quoted for absolute gospel.

But, one correction.

Suprisingly, a low dose like 4-8mg will probably work, whereas 32mg did

should say...

Suprisingly, a low dose like 4-8mg will probably work A THOUSAND TIMES BETTER THAN 32mg did

I think above a certain dosage buprenorphine won't work any better, but it lasts longer. Some people in my clinic are getting a double dosage every other day, so instead of 16mg/day they'd give 32mg every 2 days. Supposedly it works fine. Go figure.

Suboxone is supposed to work for 36 hours, so yeah, its reasonable that they do that. The double dosage has nothing to do with increasing the duration, though. I could get by for 2 days on my normal 4 - 6mg, I just choose not to.

Suboxone is the love of my life. I would probably not be alive today if it werent for suboxone.

Youre swimming in dangerous waters, my friend, coming into OD and spouting about how you hate suboxone because YOU CANT GET HIGH OFF IT. Do you have any idea how many regulars in this forum are on - and are in love with - suboxone, and are going to be pissed when they see that you think its useless because you cant get high from it?

It should be obvious why its better than methadone, but Ill make a nice list for you:

1) Easier to get off of. Tapering is easy and doesnt take long at all. Most people are stuck on methadone till they die, or relapse.
2) Doesnt get you high, so there is almost no temptation to abuse it.
3) Methadone is a MUCH worse addiction to have than heroin is, to be honest. Suboxones withdrawals are practically non-existent if used properly.
4) Easier. You dont have to drive to a clinic and pay cash every day to get it. You can have a prescription sitting in your medicine cabinet so you only have to walk 10 feet every day to get your dose.

Maybe if you didnt waste your suboxone doctors time by trying to get high off the suboxone, you would realize how useful they are to people like us who take it seriously.

Im not even going to give you the pleasure of having this thread open (theres already another thread on this very topic anyways) and I have a rule in the guidelines to back my decision up: "We are not here to help you abuse maintenance programs."

EDIT - no, actually, I will leave it open. Just so you can see how many people rely on and love this medication, and how you are wasting a spot in an addiction program. A spot that someone who would give their life to be in CANT be in because you are in it.
when i got some subs from a friend to help me out to lower my vik levels, i could feel a buzz from them , but yes it help wonders for the withdrawl.I feel just like u on your response because there r alot of people who this drug has helped out and it makes me sick to think this guy has the nerve to come on here spouting off at the mouth about it BECAUSE HE CANT GET HIGH OFF IT,just makes me sick and makes me want to loose my cool on his head

I'm prescribed 40mg per day. no joke. :)

My doctor is actually pretty knowledgeable about drugs too so it's kind of surprising. Obviously I don't take that much. I'm fine taking 2-8mg per day.

^ Thats so stupid. The effects of buprenorphine stop increasing at 32mg, so you are essentially wasting 8mg (If you were actually taking 32mg).

But, thats good you are sticking with 2 - 8mg. At least you'll have TONS of extras for emergencies.
