Anyone done saffron?

My friend just gave me some and I'm wondering what it's like. He says you gotta eat it, which I'm not too keen on doing but hell I'll do it anyway. I just want to see if anyone around here has had any experience with this substance, what the high was like and how much did you take, thanks in advance :) .

Well I just downed about 1 gram of it about 15 minutes ago, I'll let you guys know how it goes.
 
Saffron is a pretty damn expensive spice, it should do something to you, I head from a friend of a friend that it gets you ripped.
 
contrary to popular belief, saffron does not contain MDA. saffron does contain the essential oil safrole, which is similar in structure to amphetamine. in fact, it's one of the chemicals you can start with to make amphetamine-based compounds [don't even ask me to elaborate, i will not].

so no, it's not placebo.

HOWEVER it is hepatically metabolised to an epoxide, as epoxides are quite reactive, and being formed within the liver, it causes toxicity. doses over 1.5 grams are NOT reccomended as there is an increased risk of fatal toxicity.
 
I'm still not feeling anything, I'm kind of disappointed, but maybe it just has yet to kick in?
 
^the strands generally have to be VERY fresh in order to be psychoactive. your run-of-the-mill saffron from supermarkets will not work.
 
Saffron should be very very fresh in order to mess your shits up. I highly recommend you go find some real drugs kid saffron is on par with eating nutmeg
 
yeah im well aquainted with the effects of real drugs, it was just something my friend gave me, no need to patronize me. That shit didn't work anyway.

anyways....yes saffron is the most amazing drug in the world but nobody knows about it or how to make it work properly...i will let u in on the secret! first of all, you need atleast 2 tablespoons of high quality saffron~however its not psychoactive in this state...in order to get the real effects from it, you must make a "tea" containing this wonderful spice....you need to add the saffron after it has been thoroughly mashed to atleast 8oz of gasoline and a cup of drain cleaner! then u stir it and place in the freezer/fridge until its chilled and ENJOY! its so strong it may burn ur throat a little but its well worth it....this shit is amazing!

Actually, saffron is psychoactive and there are many records of it being used as an opium or alcoloh additive. SWIM has tried up to a gram with mild stimulant and euphoric qualities. SWIM ordered fresh, top quality saffron fromfrom Spain and found it to have a noticable effect.
SWIM found the effects somewhat like methylone or MDMA, but lighter. SWIM did not want to push the dose due to toxicity, though the poisonous and anticoagulant properties of the plant in the literature were ultimately attributed to a look-alike (Crocus autumnalis, which contains colchicine) if I remember correctly.
Search more ethnobotanically-oriented forums and there are more testimonials available. It is far more interesting, shorter acting and less toxic than nutmeg, and the active is not considered to be safrole, which does does not contain at all.
