and another point id love to make showing just how stupid this guy really is, is that he posted us asking if its OK to take saffron for recreational purposes, we told him NO, and he still did it anyways.

yo this saffron BS isnt the same as sassafrass....anyways im almost sure it isnt...does anyone know what sassafrass is supposedly an oil and it has like an MDMA feel to it, but i really have no idea lol. i was offered some but i get tested alll my friends said it was werid kinda puts u in that trippping mind set but your not quite tripping lol.

Can anyone provide a reference that saffron contains safrole? I couldn't find one and I do not think it contains any. People just assume it does because of the name. Cite a reference proving it does if anyone disagrees - this is something I've been trying to confirm for some time....

Also, I don't get why 2 pages of posts were wasted on flames when this is a legitimate topic. If you don't want to discuss this plant, then go post somewhere else. Just drop the fight and get back on topic, or close the thread. There are other ones on other forums that have considered this topic seriously... Everyone just grow up and use this forum for what it is meant for - discussing psychoactive substances.

Note that some of the negative results are because the stamens need to be fresh and of good quality to be effective. The cheap stuff in the supermarket is usually really old and weak. Note also that no one can prove that there is any safrole in this plant...sassy oil and camphor are the usual sources for most chemists..
 
Crocus sativus! I believe I've had that in my rice sometime or another. Needless to say, the restaurant didn't seem to be eating anything of mind-altering effect. Granted, it may have been the dosage, the freshness of product, or the heat of the kitchen--but regardless--I remain a skeptic.
 
i was under the impression that the 'saf' in safrole comes from 'sassafras' which contains quite a bit of it. though on closer inspection the word 'sassafras' does not actually contain 'saf'! this is a mystery

What I want to know is why aren't the mods giving warnings to people like yiggy giving shit advice that totally goes against the BL user agreement...

Its one thing to call someone an idiot... but to advise someone to consume gasoline is far far beyond that, especially since it is likely that some people (granted, with low IQs) would actually take it to heart.
