Any knitters/crocheters on Bluelight?

Yeah!! Post pics!! :)

Xeno- I may just do that.
Right now I'm making a couple scarves for an exchange with n3o :)
She has a pic of her in the last scarf I made her.....
These will be a little different- (Different yarn)

I got new needles but I'm hating them b/c they have a sharp edge vs a rounded edge.
The sharper edge is more difficult for me and snags thin yarn even though I'm using the correct size. I found that Rounded edges make it a lot easier to go a bit faster.

^ Those look great!

I used to knit, about 5 or so years ago. Lost the thread of it (;)) though, and have been meaning to pick it back up. I'd like to knit a nice cowl/hood and/or loop scarf for myself before winter, but I'd probably need to start in the next month to get either done in time.

I like to crochet afghans in the winter time. I usually make them for a specific person and when crocheting I think of all the fun memories and my wishes for a healthy and happy life. When I give it to them, it really is a gift of love!

no way! :p

not yet at least. so i googled around some crochet blogs...its like wow, how far down the rabbit hole do I want to take this.

for example this blog, i watched the first video, and skipped ahead, and all of a sudden she had like a dozen loops on one hook 8o

i'd say my ultimate goal is to have a one piece rainbow crocheted jumpsuit, maybe by winter when i'll really need it :p

Im sure you can do shells :)

Im working on the double crochet atm. The hardest thing for me is turning, and making sure i start with the right number of stitches in between. I need to have looser stitches while learning i think--its hard to see where a stitch starts!

^Yeah, it is. I like big stitches myself anyway- I love the way small stictches look but when you have a nice soft yarn the big stitches make it even softer and cozy :)
I find it easier to see my stitches when I stitch small though- not TINY but small.....
The hardest part for me is picking up when I haven't done it in a while- and doing a few rows, then coming back to it, my stitches may be slightly off and make the whole thing curved :(
But I only make scarves really- I've made two throws and they turned out lopsided :D haha
I've made lots of squares- once you get the corners down, squares are great practice.

I can't wait to see what you come up with!!! :)

Never noticed this thread before, and running low on time at the moment but, I crochet, would love to learn how to knit.

However, I don't see me doing either one anytime soon --- a super hot summer with a giant yarn creation sitting on my sweaty lap isn't fun for me...I tend to do my yarn crafting in the colder months.

^Oh!!! Exciting!!! :) I can't wait to see pics of what you do!!

P_C- Yeah, crocheting is so nice in the fall and winter- I don't mind doing them in the summer b/c we aren't usually too hot here though hot days I wouldn't want to :) But once the fall hits, I always get that warm fuzzy wanting to crochet feeling <3

I recently made 3 scarves....will have to post pics.

^Yeah, we need pics of what you've done JSG :)
I'm not great and I still post them for you!
My latest ones:

They look better ON where you can see them better but I set them out and don't want to post pics of someone else without permission :)

^ Looks great Ocean! I'll have to post some pictures of stuff I've made soon...this 100+ degree weather lately has prevented me from even wanting to look at my bag(s) filled with yarn and previous crafts (I've only given one away, and it's a decorated picture frame with crocheted flowers on it, going to have to post a picture of that one.)
