Any bike people here?

What the...??? Really? What age is that little beauty?

Not many people will realise what you have there. Very nice. That rear wheel. <3

p.s. let's see the front of her.

It's a 1990 Japanese model, imported in 1991. I've had it since around 2001 if I remember.

I'm reluctant to post an image of the front of it, because then you'll see its just an NC24, rather than the much sexier NC30 with twin headlights. Same engine though!

Beautiful bikes. They were one of my dream dikes as a kid. Still are I guess.

I'm currently sorely tempted by a VFR800 , 1998 model, that a Scottish lad is selling over here. $3.5k for it, we'll see;)

I ride a GPZ500, a DR250S, a AX-1 250cc and a Honda 50 at the moment.

I like the little 500, but it started burning oil recently so there's going to be some money and piston rings thrown at it soon. I ride around 3500km per month with work and can't have a bike drinking oil.

As has been said, <3 your VFR Josh... ! Always wanted one of those.

I was really into bikes when I was younger, of any kind. All up until when I got knocked off my Mito aged 18 and they were picking gravel out of my back for 3 hours.. stupidly didn't have any of the proper attire on... i was going to the pub ffs... ever since it broke me and my bike I opted for a car as I was reluctant to die...

Maybe one day..

Early on in the year I was eyeing up a GT-Fury as I was looking at getting back into DH, possibly racing.. The price tag put the brakes on that when the Mrs found out :( Best part of 3k....

Ok fuck off with the motorbikes now please make your own thread:p=D

Nice GT there, would you actually go riding anywhere that required that much travel though? Short of a couple of places in wales/scotland not many places you would get the full use out of it.

This is the bike I'm after:

Got a fucking sick spec for the price, but I can't really justify £2k for a bike when I'm unemployed and I can't ride it at the moment.

The travels a little over kill I do admit, more so for my capabilities really than where I'd ride it. I've friends who ride competitively and with the right skills and lack of fear there's a number of places round the midlands which have a mixture of trail and downhill where the bulk of the travel would come in handy. I just love the bike to..

You know that's why I asked, don't you? :D

Still very nice.

That's not a V-TEC, is it?

It's not our fault you gave the thread an ambiguous title. :p :D

Yeah, lovely bike. Unless you're going to use all the travel fairly regularly you're carrying a lot of cons for that extra travel though. Five inches with 650b wheels sucks up everything apart from the most extreme stuff ime.

Still, the rational mind doesn't always win in the decision making process when it comes to thse things eh=D

So true. My last bike bicycle was a mountain bike with thick chunky tyres, front & rear suspension, disc brakes, etc. with a stupidly heavy frame. I could hardly ride it on fucking tarmac, let alone on any rough stuff. My new one (a Halfords Carrera 2 hybrid or something, nothing special) has thin tyres, no rear suspension, and I can cycle it all day without having a connery. The difference is like night and day.

If I was going to go full bounce (and I probably wouldn't, since I'm not into downhill, would rather blast some woodland trails etc when I go offroad and prefer all my pedal input to go on propelling the bike rather than compressing rear sus), I'd like a Whyte 146:

I've always been a Marin / Whyte fanboy though. My old man followed suit too, one of his bikes is the slightly mental PRST-1:

I suspected it might be. If I could have any bike now it'd probably be an RC45, decent ones are now selling for £30k+ though, which is a lot to stomach for a second hand motorcycle...

...or maybe a 916. My dad rides (amongst other things) a 748S, in yellow, which is also a nice looking bike :)

Very nice bikes Whyte and Marin, my dad's got a Marin.

I almost bought an Orange earlier in the year and if money was no object I'd probably go that route, they're very expensive for what you get though because of the handbuilding.

Probably fix up my hardtail some time soon, it's been sitting and rotting in my old dears shed for 18 months though. Needs a new chainset (minus cranks) and also a headset I think.
