Misc Anxiety

Word. Well it's almost 4, for me 4 is the magical hour where if I'm still awake I start freaking out so I'm going to man up and put the phone down.

They gave me xanex.
But you see, it doesn't fix your anxiety. It only makes them go away for a short time until you have more anxiety.
I'd see a therapist (I hope you don't take offence to this, I see one too.) so you can fix what is causing you anxiety in the first place.
 
I just got referred to a neurologist, for pain management , they completely ignored me about the anxiety stuff.
 
Make an appointment with a psychiatrist and tell them your symptoms. Go get some valerien root extract. It's like a natural benzo. Whether you get pills or not your still going to have to work on whats causing your problem so you wont have it.
 
The doctor thinks the not sleeping is associated with the pain , and thinks its all in my head , I do a have an appointment wiht the psychiatrist . The doctor said I was probally going to be prescribed neurontin is how she spelled on paper Ive never heard of it.

Nobody likes talking about themselves. It is the only way to get better though. There are free support groups, like Emotions Anonymous and also groups and other resources in your area like free to low cost therapists/psychiatrists that your General Practitioner can give you the numbers to.

The medication only masks the real problem. You need a cure, not a mask. Things like anxiety and social phobias only get worse without a plan of action (not medication). Medication can be a temporary part of the solution, and an antidepressant with anti anxiety properties can be a permanent part of the solution. It needs to be a multi faceted plan of action.
 
Neurontin (gabapentin) is an excellent medication. It helps with depression, anxiety and pain. If the dose is high enough, that is. I have found that most people seem to need a higher dose than most doctors initially prescribe.
 
Oh thats good, I was doing some research and a couple sources said its being replaced by lyrica?

Well they are correct in a sense I suppose, all psychological issues are in your head, though somehow I don't think they meant it that way. Chemical imbalance is often discarded as rubbish but I firmly believe it exists in a lot of people with mental problems.

Not all that potent but worth a try as it certainly shouldn't do any harm, and if you don't like how it makes you feel you can just stop taking it with no worry of WD.

Hey dude I hate to say I told you so, but like I said, a General Practitioner is not the doctor you're supposed to be seeing about this type of thing.

As for pain management, I was not aware you had pain, what kind of chronic pain do you have and what caused it? What were you trying to get prescribed for pain? This is the first time I've heard you complain of pain.

But yeah, a GP doesn't do the kind of stuff you're asking of him, which is why you got nothin but referrals, but at least you got the referral in. I don't really understand why you were referred to a Neurologist, what's up with that?
 
Haha told me so, well I had a couple my mom wanted to get referals for, the insurance doesn't pay for it unless it is referred,

I have extreme back pain and this came on recently because of my growth spurs and I am still sensitive from a spinal shunt surgery about a year ago. I can't get out of bed , not even the roll like a log thing they taught me in the hospital. So I called my friend with connections and he got me some 2 of the blue ones and 1 of the capsules. He said they were like ten years old, and i heard pills go bad and I don't want to get poisoning obviously. If I could use them would way would make them long lasting and potent I need to make them last till I get an appointment with my neuro surgeon

Thread from a while ago, I have neuropathic pain as it was described to me, killer spasms,back is constantly aching, stabbing pains/ pins and needles, I have/had http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tethere..._cord_syndrome , http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syringomyelia. The neurologist is for neuropathic pain because the pain limits me from doing alot.
 
Hallo, illmantos. I've read the thread from the beginning, and i want to add my suggestion-advice-tip, whatever you wanna name it. Nobody suggest you that maybe The God is the answer to your problems..IDK, maybe it has 1% possibility, maybe 50%, maybe 100% or maybe 0,1%..When i was at your age, i was singing (if somebody could call "sing" those screams, haha:)) and playing the guitar in a death metal band we had, i was listening to bands like Sepultura, Slayer, Death, Morbid Angel, Kreator etc., so i wasn't like the satan lyrics the songs had, i was saying to myself (and it was true), that i like the music of the tracks, not the lyrics, but i was singing them as they were part of the track, like an other instrument. I was drawing the Slayer's logo, which is considered as a satan's sign and stamp..but i was drawing just cause i liked it, any-fuckin-way, what i'm trying to say is that i wasn't believe to satan, but neither To God..Ok, the years passed, i had some experiences in my life, a lot of accidents, and at 28 i believed To God after an accident which brought me VERY close to death..
I went to a psychiatrist to treat an addiction to heroin i had, before we start he told my parents that his method was 1000% succesfully..what a fuckin bustard, he was earning a lot of money, giving hopes to desperate people..I went to fuckin 30 sessions, of course his idiot method didn't work..
So, i wanna say to you, that maybe The God would be the answer to your problems, and i don't mean some extreme hardened puritans, i'm talking about simple things..IDK, maybe i'm negative to psychiatrists because of my own experience..
But i mean, you don't have nothing to loose if you search for God's help, maybe He could be the answer to your problems..I told you about my past with the "death metal way of life" cause of your avatar..i thought that maybe you're a death metal fan too..(i change my lifestyle at 19..)
For the 2 drugs above^^, the capsule is mallinckrodt oxycodone 5mg, and the pill is mallinckrodt morphine sulfate extended release 15mg, i think, (i'm 99%sure:)), and i'm sure you know they're opiates, they work for neuropathetic pain (i'm a chronic pain patient, i have neuropathetic pain), and they are more "addictable" from benzo's..but, let me tell you smth that i've make a conclusion from your posts, that maybe you think that there is a pill, like magic, and maybe without even side effects, that you can take it and solve all your problems at once..don't want to dissapoint you, but there's not a pill like this, i searched years to find it, but unfortunatelly there isn't a fuckin one..so maybe keep that in mind, a pill can help you, but all depends from you..i think you're a sensιtive guy, cause your problems became from the loss of your grandfather and grandmother, so..I just wanted to say my opinion about some things that could help you..I wish you all the good luck, i'm sure that you'll find the way to solve your problems..%)

Haha thanks man,, I don't really believe in religion, I just need to work through it, and I am thinking it will work like a crutch to get up and around and comfortable. That quote was from another thread in response to tricomb.
 
Save for bL and recreational fun on occasion it has to be one of my favorite activities. Anything in particular that helped you get some sleep?
