Anticipation high

Hey I was just wondering if anyone else here experienced an anticipation high, or any feelings of discomfort, before taking drugs? I've been taking drugs or 3+ years now but I still feel terribly nauseous and jittery before taking them. It's so bad that the day before I buy drugs my bowel movements will be a bit off, to put it nicely. This happens everytime without fail, and the symptoms don't go away until I actually take the drug. I have no physical dependency and rarely use more than once a week if that's of any relevance. Does anyone else get this?
 
Totally normal. Just opening a bag of MDMA crystal or mephedrone makes me wretch. And I've been doing it a lot longer than 3 years.

Lol yeah i can relate to that, i used to get a rush seeing my dealer drive round the corner when i was into my coke
 
That sounds almost pleasurable. Mine can be very uncomfortable at times, I'm just jittery, sweating and like I said bowel movements. And it's indiscriminate too, happens with virtually every illegal drug except maybe weed. But heroin is the worst for it, pills are bad too.
 
You're just too fucking excitable :)

Can't say I've ever experienced this, but then again I'm never sober so who knows =D

I've mentioned it before but I could make my old flatmate nearly spew just by showing her a pill lol. She always bokes when trying to eat them. I had her shouting at me to shut up before she spewed just by talking about this the other week.
 
Tingley fingerlies when on shrooms. Can't remember any other instances with other psychedelics though.
It's perfectly normal - Akin to the placebo effect really :)
 
Nah, that's different. Read the OP again. This is sick-inducing, bowel opening, not pleasure. Only happens to me with crystal MDMA and meph....but I've spent years weighing those two out.

Aaaahhhhh - sorry about that. Forgive me - I didn't read the first post at all, purely the thread title.
That's a weird one, I've never experienced that at all :?
Have you any explanation as to why you get all those psychical discomforts class-a-team and SHM?
Again, it's a weird one that. The only thing that's come close to that is smelling a bag of really lush weed and that setting off anxiety that left me having to give up weed entirely. Can only have a couple of tokes on a spliff when I'm absolutely pissed and have Benzos in me and not feel like the Earth is spinning far too fast and I'm left in a daze of super-speed while I'm static and thinking all sorts of mentalness 8(
 
I think the gag reflex is pretty common, been discussed here before anyway, with long-term MDMA pill users, I just seem to have done more crystal than pills (first did crystal in 2001) so its that with me. And now meph has become pretty much the same, particularly running to the bog when you go to weigh out the first dose.

Theories? As mine apply to a definite altering of consciousness (the way I do those drugs is anyway) I often think its the last throes of a straight ego that knows its about to be blasted away. As the OP says, the feeling goes away immediately with the first dose. I can sit and weigh doses out all night after that and don't get the retch/gag thing again.

Not everyone has this, but it's common. Like Crackheads girl mate. Another mate of mine has it with mushrooms, even just at the mention of them. Yeah, that's a bit weird.
 
Crikey! It kinda does make sense though. And, like you said, after taking that first dose and feeling that high then yer totally fine :)
I'd imagine that because you've had that dose, the Dopamine system (which also accounts for nausea) has been "hit" so from then on you end up being fine as it's acted on those receptors.

But yea, weirdness aplenty. I have sympathy for those that go through this.
I've never had such an experience on any substance, and even the weed thing was due to actually gaining paranoia by smoking it night until day since I was 13 till... I dunno... 21 or something?

It's an interesting topic though, some I'm intrigued to hear other's experiences!
 
depends on the drug, i get nervous and anxious before DMT, but nowhere near as bad as being sick etc, but it gets my heart banging, other than that no negative anticipatory effects, mainly good anticipation especially when it comes to euphoric stims etc
