annoying sayings from non-drug users

in middle school health class the teacher told us that weed will make a guy's penis shink and he'll grow breast and with girls their vagina enlarges and their breast shrink
 
I generally get a lot of remarks from people I know who are ignorant to the facts of drugs. They will always find some excuse as to why every drug is life threatening ("if you take acid, you will be stuck in a trip for the rest of your life" and "weed will give you cancer"), yet ironically, they will have no problem getting drunk themselves.
 
"Drugs, not drug laws, are responsible for gang violence and organized crime"

"drug users are a danger to society and that is why drugs are illegal"


"drugs are a crutch for people that can't deal with life"


"Suboxone, Methadone programs are just as bad as being on the street still"

drug use is childish.

yet everyone seems a lot happier as children to begin with.
 
I was talking about ecstasy with my coworker, and he said "I'll never try it. that stuff can kill you if you take it just once." but he likes to get drunk. "um, then why do you drink alcohol (which is much more likely to kill you)?"
 
"If you try heroin once, you will get addicted."

"If you use needles, that must mean you have HIV or Hep C"

Basically any generalizations get me furious.
 
I hate when people put things like ethanol in separate categories that are not considered "drugs." Ethanol is indeed a drug in every sense of the word and it also happens to be one of the most noxious.
 
Someone I smoke with quite regurlaly actually tried convincing me he had cocaine laced weed. I Always had a lot of respect for this guy but he was talking out his ass, I smoked 2 grams of that shit with the supposed 'cut' sprinkled on top (it was keif that had just collected at the bottom of his bag.) and all that happened was I got super blazed and told him to stfu and play some halo.

Seriously, for like 2 hours he was just buggin out, kept checkin his pupils and shit and wouldn't stfu about how he felt so buzzed up. >_<
 
somehow because you take drugs you're a morally bad person (without implicating the supporting organised crime bit etc), and that your life will automatically come to nothing.

to me trying to make people feel guilty for excercising their individual freedoms is probably morally worse. and my life is just where i want it to be...
 
You said that any generalisations make you furious. As science is essentially the process of inducing generalisations from specific cases, I thought it'd rile you up. tbh, I was just being a smart-arse, don't pay me too much attention.
