We were having some lunch at a shopping centre/mall when I had a somewhat interesting conversation with a random sitting at a table next to us. The setting, it was myself, my wife and our 13 month old daughter sitting at a table. At the table next to us was a guy and his Phillipine wife. We got talking due to Cassie just being oh so cute (as usual) and the couple were commenting on how Cassie looked so cute and how she really looked like her daddy (yup, me heh).
Anyway, the guy mentioned how he was 70 (looked AWESOME for his age!) and that he had lived in Stawell for a few years. Then just 'casually' mentioned how he loves living 'in the bush', the healthy air, the secludeness etc. Then he said quote "I also grew tryptamines, bit illegal, the cops would lock you up if you got found out, but it's good stuff, really like it" during the conversation. I didn't expect a nice mild mannered 70 year old guy to mention that during a normal conversation centered about our 13 month old daughter heh.
I just nodded and agreed, it really didn't sink in. Emma then mentioned to me after they left, probably 10ish minutes later "Did you hear what he said?" We then had a good chuckle about the tryptamine story and went about our day. Anyone else have somewhat unexpected stories like that, hopefully on topic so it stays in AusDD. Good to see how 70 year old people can talk about drugs with such warmth and a grin as this guy did
I have a feeling I will still be looking back on my interaction with stuff throughout my life. Rock on dude, his love of life was something to be admired considering his age, then again, anyone of any age should have the love of life that he sounded like he did, 'twas the awesome, we had a great talk
