amphetamines and meth-amphetamines

Some like coke.

Some like meth.

Some like heroin.

Some like pot.

It can all fuck up your life, but who am I to judge.

"Are these drugs the same as speed and ice? what about crystal meth? is meth a lot more harmful/addictive?"

I was struggling with living 3.5 years ago. I saw a top PsychDoc who put me on Methylphenidate, after several other meds, because he thought i had a distraction/attitional/stickability issue-10mgs 2x daily.

Here there's only Methylphenidate/Dexamphetamine for ADD/HD-1st line

I revisited him a few months ago (now i was scripted 80mgs Methylphenidate daily)

I mentioned to him (perhaps stupidly ummm) that i had tried SOIK's 5mg Dexamphetamine tabs, and after taking 1, tab i fell into a deep sleep, and felt relaxed/lasyish.

I straight out asked to be changed over to Dex, which he had no issue with-20mgs daily, i felt i had the right to be so bold, as after 3.5 years Methyl treatment it wasn't working as well anymore.

Well it certainly quietened my 'head noise' and afforded some mental peace EARLY ON, unfortunately as the following weeks passed i found myself becoming mentally unstable, like i was going to lose it, it became so concerning i saw another Doc and received Risperdal, i was real concerned for my mental state.

I recently read that when one first takes amphetamine, they feel like a rock star, but after prolonged daily use become paranoid, suspicious, 'CIA is tracking my thoughts' thinking. This can eventually lead to a state akin to acute paranoid schizophrenia.

I dumped the Dex and put up with the depression, restlessness, mental strife until i went back on Methylphenidate.

I had the occasion recently to visit a psychiatric unit, and several people there, i spoke to/learned about, were there due to smoking Crank/Meth.

No preaching here folks, i'm all for playing safe and having fun, just telling it like i saw it.

I'd advise doing no more than a quarter...and when you run out, don't get more. You can't reattain that first whopper of a euphoria without upping the dose radically...and, before you know it, you've been up for 8 days.

It's my DOC for sure, but it can eat your soul if you're not careful.
 
for some reason meth is used to describe amphetamines/methamphetamines and ice...
Basically in Aus speed was amphetamine - now cut methaphetamine depending on what state - actual amphetamine is hard to find...
methamphetamine hydrochloride is smokable but not ice (this causes some confusion as it can come in varying textures - it can be eaten /cut & snorted as well)
4-mar is my understanding of actual ice and is much more potent than methamphetamine.
 
so nice that in my coutry you can buy pure meth in the pharmacies :> but only with perscription :((((

I tested residue from old baggies from 2002. The NMR came up in all 15 bags as methamphetamine, NOT 4mar

what does 4mar taste like when smokin?

what are the characteristic differences between meth & 4mar when smokin? and by that I mean does one last a hell of a lot longer? does one produce far more cloud on exhale? does one puddle up clearer and quicker?

According to people who have done 4MAR, the high is much less anxious (ie meth high). Because 4mar activates serotonin much more than meth, the high apparently feels alot more natural, so that after 2 days awake you just feel normal, not on edge and like you want to sleep but cant.
As far as what it looks like... apparently the same
 
Ice is recrystallized methamphetamine hydrochloride and resembles tiny shards of transparent broken glass. It is usually a mixture of dextro and levo methamphetamine on the streets, but to legally qualify as ice in the eyes of the drug enforcement agency and the courts, the product must be 80 percent or greater dextromethamphetamine hcl.

Amphetamine rarely appears on the black market as a street drug in America but is quite common in Europe where it is referred to as "base" and is generally not very pure. Most amphetamine done in America comes as a prescription from the pharmacy. I'm on some right now.

"Speed" is a blanket term that covers amphetamine, methamphetamine, and 4-MAR, but haribo1 is about the only person I know of who seems to have done 4-MAR. You could call cocaine speed I guess, but most people just call it blow.

"Crank" is a methamphetamine salt admixture that has not been recrystallized. Crank is usually, but not always, more cut (impure) than ice. Ice is sometimes cut with Epsom salts (MgSO4).

It's usually always synthesised from ephedrine or pseudoephedrine... how can the product be racemic then?
 
Both ephedrine and pseudoephedrine have 2 chiral center carbons: the benzylic carbon with the hydroxyl group and the aliphatic carbon next to it with the alpha methyl group and methylamino groups attached.

When reducing the alcohol, one chiral center is done away with, but the N alpha carbon's chiral center remains, so depending on what you forms you started out with, there is still always one chiral carbon in every methamphetamine molecule.
