Note that the doses used in the main studies I cite are much higher than one would expect in therapeutic human doses but are on the same level one may expect for abuse level dosages.DJHENRU

BAM! Sauce.
Keep in mind the study identifies the midwestern US as a place with a high rate of zinc deficiency, and a decent multivitamin provides 25-50mg of zinc a day (GNC Men's Health is the one I "referenced"). The study reports results at 30mg/day elemental zinc in children, so perhaps it would be a higher number in adults.
EDIT: Same thing goes with iron deficiency/multivitamins

However, you said you take acetyl-carnitine which whilst said to have an anti-depressant effect can also induce depression whilst on it due to it rising the levels of choline... Maybe try stop it for a week or two and see how you feel?MrSpeedyG

ALCAR is also proven to reduce neurotoxicity aswell as/combo of ALA whilst on the topic, have mentioned this before.spacegiraffe

The ALCAR has been improving my mood and I was only 125-140lb during that spread so 120mg would keep me up for 3-4 days. I had 2 straight weeks of fevers and psychosis when I quit which is why I worry that the effects could be ongoing. I'm 160lb since quitting 11 months ago, my body has returned to normal but my mind still strays all over the place.MrSpeedyG

Maybe try Wellbutrin? It's the only anti-depressant I would suggest someone to try really, it's a cathinone derivitate and acts as a NDRI and might be worth a shot, allthough I still would personally drop the ALCAR and see what effect that has.sekio

from my experience (i take dexedrine daily, 20mg twice a day) when i first started taking my medication i abused the hell out of it for a good month - being up to 150mg a day type thing, snorting it, all sorts of crap. i then came off it for a good 9-10 months, and my tolerance had not reset, but had gone down to a level at which i could re-use the drug at its therapeutic levels once again. i no longer abuse my medication and NEVER go higher than 40mg a day. sometimes i even forget to take my doses. i think that amphetamine tolerance is ever lasting, there is no way for it to ever decrease to base line. during my 10 month break lets say, i was on several supplements, ZMA, vitamin E, conenzyme Q10, selenium, melatonin etc - a whole bunch of anti-oxidants to say the least and they perhaps reduced my tolerance (actually, perhaps if i hadn't of taken them, my tolerance would never have gone back down?) thats an interesting theory.
