AMERICANA | Traditional Roots & Blues (only)

Okay help me out. I am seriously falling in love with slow blues music.

No piano. I dislike piano. But you know really deep and emotional and... blues. What is out there? Anything "legendary" or artists considered to have icon status? Male or female vocalist or just instrumental, does not matter. Old music, new music, i don't care. I need this stuff these days. I don't download torrents or anything, so something from youtube maybe?

@Ghost fart

I assume you are on about proper Mississippi Delta Blues?

Mississippi Fred Mcdowell, Son House, Skip James, Robert Pete Williams is a good place to begin.

As slow as it can go & REAL TALK too, he was in jail for shooting a man to death as the guy said to him at a bar "You better go pick some more cotton or I'm gonna fuck you up" so Mr Willimas sprayed him in the stomach with his .45

Also this too, more Real Talk from Skip James

Honestly now here you ever heard anything like that before @mal3volent

There’s seven breezes a-blowin’
All around the cabin door
There’s seven breezes a-blowin’
All around the cabin door
Seven shots ring out
Like the ocean’s pounding roar

There’s seven people dead
On a South Dakota farm
There’s seven people dead
On a South Dakota farm
Somewhere in the distance
There’s seven new people born.

@Jerry Atrick
You like TVZ? I'm English but damn man I love his music sssooo much.

Check this out my brother.

Oh yes, I love me some Townes. I have most of his studio albums and close to all of his live ones. I know In The Beginning only came out within the past few years and I admit I have not listened to it yet. The track you posted possibly has the most upfront drums I've ever heard in a TVZ song. I dig it. I'm gonna have to go order that CD now.

This is the first of his songs I ever heard. Blew. My. Mind. Enjoy....
