ambien is odd and id like some feedback

i ate one once and i tripped balls and forgot where i was and what i was doing and didnt remember how i got in the bed i was in when i woke up..

walls were breathing, i felt underwater, the wood floors were like a river, textured paint walls were smudging around, i saw crazy shadow figures and the colors of things were changing. last thing i remember was getting chicken from the freezer looking at my hands wondering how and if they were connected to my body, if they were 'my hands' and 'what the hell am i doing?!?!'

perhaps i have a predisposition for the trip since i've taken quite a bit of lsd and mushrooms in my day... i was also drinking a few hours prior to taking it, and i had an adderall, which kinda kept me up and tripping for a while before i blacked out

ok, but does it have hallucinagenic properties, like mushrooms or LSD

If DXM can be considered a hallucinagin, then zolpidem most definately falls under the same catagory. Just because it has a prescribed usage doesn't mean people can't get high off it.

i took 70 mgs of ambien ir once and it dumbed me down to the point where i was thinking to myself "everything looks strange"...thats all i remember

I see double when I'm on it. I don't remember hallucinating much. And the next day, I don't remember very clearly what happened. It's hard to stay awake when I'm on it, but I'd say that's true for most people.

what would be a good dosage for a first time user? i'm 195 lbs. and just curious. i dont even know how i would come across it so i probably wont be trying it for a long time.

if you have a benzo tolerance, or a general gaba tolerance you could start with 20-35 mgs, and probably 10 to 20 without cross tolerance

i dunno this is weird but maybe i'm doing it wrong. some people say they have pretty wild experiences on them. i pop these things and they actually make me more awake, and i don't feel hungry.

Small (no, medium-sized) warning: The primary danger of Ambien is that it does make some people (myself included) feel very wide-awake and just a tiny bit uncoordinated. So people take Ambien, feel energetic and almost sober, then they do shit like trying to bake a 3-tier, Food Network-style wedding cake out of pancake mix, Crystal Light, sprinkles and a mango. On a hot plate or the barbeque. Then they fall dead asleep while waiting for their "cake to bake." Then they wake up to a house full of smoke. (I have provided a real-life example. Not mine, thankfully. I tried to make beef bourguignon with pickles, frozen blackberries and sliced roast beef. And something else. I can't remember. But it ended with the same result.)

Or they feel utterly sober and decide to go shopping online, or worse yet, at Walmart at 3am, and either crash the car or wake up with crazy cc bills and no memory of shopping. (This I have not yet done.)

Something similar seems to happen at least once in every Ambien user's career.

Oh man, I can't count how many times I've checked my email only to find order confirmations that I couldn't remember placing the night before.

ahah yeah deffo lose memory like that... ambien is so strange because you dont even realise you're fucked even when you have double vision.. then it's like a distant memory.

throw in a lot of ket and it can get quite messy

There is something noisy and weird about ambien (zolpidem) for me. I often feel like something is flitting around in my peripheral vision. Its all kind of hard to explain. Its sufficiently amnestic that you may not remember having posted. Be careful, its not the riskiest drug out there by any means but I find its risk to pleasure ratio unacceptable as I do not enjoy it.

I thought it would be mostly like a benzo but it has some other element that isn't benzo-like.
YES.
dude ambien made me drive to cleveland (from columbus) for no reason and come right back on the freeway, worst drug experience is wit ambien...it does make your vision fucked up, like you take maybe 30 mg and wait 30 minz and you'll say "i can tell theres something weird with my vision"...i get the chills jus thinking bout it..
ps:this was when gas was 4.09$ a gallon.. i am greatful i didnt get into an accident tho.

I get exactly the same experience as the OP. Things kinda look melty. Like the words are sliding and shifting, yet I can read them.

Size distortion is present. Like things look like they are at weird angles. My furniture looks to be almost ready to fall over.

A good euphoria kicks in.

Solid energy buzz.

Kinda uncontrolled feelings. Like I just wanna run around and burn off that energy. Or I get real intense. I yelled at my chinchilla for no reason. That type of stuff.

Fun stuff. But the downside is it konks you out in like no time flat. If i do 30mg I'm out cold (not CR) and 20 is a good spot for funny effects.

Istayhigh... Jesus christ you must have been F'd up to even want to go to Cleveland. that city is shit. Go Steelers.

20mg. Im 20 lbs more than you and that buzzes me up good.

And only your doctor can prescribe it. So thats up to you. Rule 16 prohibits me from continuing

I get the trippy effects for the first few days but the magic is lost unless i stop taking them for a week or so. Gives me a metaalic taste in my mouth which i get when i take LSD sometimes too. been wondering what the link is with ambien and hallucinagenic qualitys (brain chemistry wise).

Ambien made me do all kinds of stupid shit. Had full blown 3 hour conversations with people that I have no recollection of, I crawled down the middle of my street on my hands and knees in the snow wearing hardly anything, ordered stupid shit online, made crappy food that tasted horrible, said messed up things to my gf, broken things in and around my house, smoked more of my bud than I would have liked...etc.. I abused ambien for 1.5 years- never really hallucinated, just a ton of amnesia.

When I finally decided to quit- was the worst experience of my life. Panic attacks nightly when I would try and go to sleep, dissociative personality during the day, fell behind in my studies because of the dissociation, lacked social interactions because of general anxiety- i seriously thought I was becoming schizophrenic or something of the like. This continues to this day, although on a much lower level- thank god I feel like I'm getting back to normal...still can't sleep for shit though.

Stuff is rough- be careful
