I spotted a stand of pine trees with many fancy mushrooms under it...yellow and white spottted ones..amanita muscaria formosa.

Now I've heard that these were weak compared to the red ones and the brown-black ones (panterina's known to be the strongest) But I decided to do a wee bit of trasspassing and grab a bundle...about a pound that dried in the oven (170) to about an oz and a quarter of cracker dry mushrooms.

Hearing these yellow ones are weaker, I decided to eat a half an oz, about a standard red ones dose. As they were coming on I was surprized by their strengh..stronger than any red ones I've done, about as strong as most browns. A little nausious at first, but this passed.

I could feel some mental nervousness over their unexpected strengh, also view this nervousness as motion in my cev field, moving form left to right. Also there was a typical distance from this nervousness, and the rest of my mind, as if I were viewing it in the third person...so I willed the motion (and vibe) to stop.

The mushrooms were coming on very strong now, and I felt the barriers separating this from that and the otherthing dissolve, letting everything in, eternity, infintity, past, present, future, maddness, but also sanity, satan (for lack of a better word) and also god (for lack of a better word)

Soooooo I was SURPRISED at how strong these yellow shrooms were..and a little freaked out! But I found it easy to just let everything be, and balance out. I assumed a point of equilibrium between all these opposites that was the essence of meditation..and at the time I was certain that these mushroom (amanita's) were indeed the SOMA that inspired the Veda's...I was absolutely certain at the time, I was just there in this timeless space with the old-ones..

I would describe the experience as one of STUPERFORIOUS PROFONDITY...fits well.

These mushrooms continue to inform me.

Interesting.

I'd advise against laymen taking mushrooms without true knowledge of special origins, but that's not directed towards you; just the public at large.

I'll still spot a Copelandia and refrain from taking it, as I've not the confidence in doing so... But being a grower and cultivator of these wonderous beings I've little interest in feildwork, as one can surely understand.

Amanita is not something I've fucked with, though rumored to be the infamous 'soma' or what have you, I don't care for anticholinergics, even my only datura and most recent psychological expinditure with that class (helping friends denote levels of potency) was mired and ridden with not suffering, but nuisance and blackout leading to 7 hours driving around with only a 2 minute memory of doing so.

My sitters were poor.

But I thank you for your work, and we appreciate your body in a scientific sense, your mind/soul in a higher realm than that...

Thanks.

It's pretty hard to mistake Amanita Muscaria var Formosa for anything but what it is by the time the veil has broken.

That is certainly valuable advice when dealing with mushrooms in general, especially the brown ones which may resemble psilocybin mushrooms.

I had a dream last night about picking a boatload of cubensis last night, all along the street where I grew up.

I think it was because of this thread.

I'd always heard psilocybin broke down readily under heat, Is this your regular drying method? I've never done a decent amount of shrooms but internet wisdom tells me you'd be better off air drying them slower. Course it also tells me 12g is a pretty large dose, so who knows :)

These are not psilocybin mushrooms these are of a different type.

Drying method sould include a dessicant IE: damprid with a screen on top where the mushrooms sit to suck up the moisture.
