Am I just a nonvisual person?

Not impressed by psychedelic visuals? lol.

Try taking higher dose of LSD.

I know that 2c-E and DOX tend to be more just about shifting/distorting.

But on LSD and mushrooms I see archetypes and objects and reality take on deeper meaning than just "waviness".

On LSD I was able to go through "levels" of perception(as far as visually):
1. See how the object as it is for what it is, and BAM I am now seeing that. I even see it merging with everything else because it's all one. Cool!
2. I want to now see the object for what it could be, I am now turning the object into what my mind had in thought. I focus my mind and become creative on what I am seeing. I no longer see anything remotely resembling this object, I have created this perception or "figment of reality" completely as I realize reality is subjective.
3. Now I focus on just the detail of the object, I can make out how beautiful simple patterns are and they are never as I thought they were. They are more, when I saw simple patterns for how they "really are" I saw outstanding beauty.

ect.

LSD's visuals can keep you entertained the whole trip. You can literally stare at something forever and not even feel like moving on at times if you get comfortable with LSD more.

No other psychedelic has such rich jewel-grade visuals lol. Starring at people's faces and your own on LSD = epic.

I've known people who don't get visuals from LSD. I get far fewer visuals from LSD than I do from boomers, even the time I candyflipped with three strong MDA pills and 4 hits of acid estimated at 70-80ug per hit... I had a huge panic attack but I got more MDA visuals than I did acid ones.

With a few exceptions (certainly LSD included :)), I too have been for the most part a non-visual tripper. My distortions and hallucinations seem to be entirely tactile - ie. affecting the sense of touch. I "feel" different "textures" or geometric "patterns", etc, on my skin, inside my body, and so on.

This actually makes my trips a bit more challenging, because not only do I not have pretty visuals to distract me, but I have to deal with all sorts of sensations which are not exactly comfortable sometimes.

^ I'd venture to say that you're fairly unique in that regard. I wonder if a blind man would feel braille on his skin?

I too am a not very visual person and don't get many visuals tripping. Ionno what people are talking about with AMT being very visual, it has barely been visual with me (at 35 mg). My most visual experience was also my highest dose I think, on a mix of San Pedro and Achuma cacti drink. Setting also has an effect. Visuals are most prominent in darkness and with music.

I don't dream even without kpins. I don't take them very often, less than once a week, I got them prescribed last month and the only times I really take them is when I go drinking or smoking weed. I avoid those two more often than not though.

I've tried DXM before, didn't really like it. It just made me throw up and wasn't particularly enjoyable.

Jamshyd, I know the tactile feeling you're talking about. None of mines have been unpleasant, but every touch feels different, foreign. Its really a pleasant experience for me, but if LSD works for you, it should work for me. Its like my fingers are floating or whatever when I'm typing.

Antidepressants (if they are serotonergic, at any rate) will diminish aspects of a trip. I've been there, on an SSRI. They also can disrupt dreaming. I've been off my SSRI for over two months now (aside from its effects on drug use, which I only began on the SSRI, it was also disrupting many aspects of my life.)

Going off the SSRI, I discovered that I'm starting to dream slightly more often (only slightly, but it's still nice!) and I have no idea how it effects tripping, because I actually lost almost all interest in drugs after going off the SSRI. They still intrigue me, but suddenly it became much easier to tell myself that I'll wait until I'm stable from SSRI withdrawal, for however months or even years that might take, and then if I feel like it, maybe I'd consider tripping again, this time on a clean slate %)

I haven't taken them at all in the last few days though. Previous to the trips I didn't take them either. Maybe I'm just stupid and can't measure out the dosages of 2CE right. They stick to fucking everything and hey this is neat stuff just started waving around and I'm having that familiar psychedelic nausea again. Still no blown out visuals, does anyone have any tips on measuring out 2CE? Its just so damn sticky. I do have an .xx scale.

its ALL about the closed eye visuals..

do you ever just sit back and close your eyes and listen to music? thats where the real trip is at in my opinion. i also find the weed plays a significant part in making things visual for me.

I do have some closed eye visuals, but I thought that psychedelics were about open eye visuals and full on hallucinations.
Mostly I see gears and stuff in patterns, some eyes so I suppose I'm not completely abnormal.
I'll have to get back into marijuana... ah I wish I didn't get so fucking paranoid on it.

you thought wrong. you're not abnormal (at least in this sense)

im surprised you didnt experience some open eye visuals on dmt..

acid is my psychedelic of choice and if you take enough of it you definitely experience full blown opened eye visual distortions.. as well as a whole bunch of other nonvisual effects associated with high dose acid. so dont get me wrong, its definitely possible. if you want to experience open eye visuals you can do it with the right chemicals and doses, its not like youre somehow immune to them.

Yeah I always associated psychedelics with open eye visuals. I had the mental thing before but I assumed it wasn't normal not to see anything. After all thats what people always talk about right? OH MY GOD I SAW INFINITY, I SAW GOD never I felt god or whatever.

i find a lot of the visuals i experience on lsd take place more in my head than in my actual field of vision.. like the things in my head will be so vivid and real that they will sort of be projected over my visual interpretation of reality. so its more like theres a vivid dream playing in your head and its superimposed over what youre looking at with your eyes.. sort of. if that makes sense.

yes well god and infinity i only find in the fractal patterns of closed eye visuals.. i really think you should try a whole session with your eyes closed. to music.

i think it is more common to "feel god" on psychedelics than it is to "see god." people talk about the visuals because they are the easiest effect to talk about. most of it is very difficult to put into words.

yea you dont so much as see god but wake up as god yourself.. you realize god temporarily in the absence of your ego.
