Another thing, not every benzo gives a "high" and alprazolam is one them. There is no "high" with alprazolam. The benzo that give a high are benzos like diazepam, temazepam, flurazepam (even though it's a partial agonist), nitrazepam, flunitrazepam, clonazepam, oxazepam (albeit a very weak high), lorazepam, nimetazepam, lormetazepam, bromazepam, and some others.
Alprazolam is not one of them. Alprazolam is one of these benzos which you take and really don't feel any kind of body high and you keep taking more and more and more and then you black out. It's physical addiction potential is very high, but it is not a benzo that gives you a buzz or a high. It's not alone either - there are other benzos just like that. Estazolam is another one and so is quazepam, and from what I hear so is tetrazepam.
Usually it's the 1,4 benzodiazepines that give a high, but of course there are exceptions too. There are subclasses of benzos within the 1,4 group like the 2-keto, 3-hydroxy, 7-nitro, etc.
