Homoeopathy totally does not work :D

Was brought up with it. MamaSham has been a professional homoeopath most of my life so we never saw doctors. All homoeopathy and other alternative medicine. None of it worked for shit. I got better sometimes. But rarely with any obvious correlation to any treatment.

Placebo is a magical thing. It works. Give it a kewl name, put it in pill/potion form, have it prescribed by somebody with a massive string of letters after their name who's just spent an hour discussing the problem with you and it works all the better. Doesn't work half as well without the trappings though. If all you get is given a sugar pill or sent up to the drawer to get it yourself it's just a sugar pill.

Whatever gets you through the night <3

That's basically what I meant =D
Obviously it depends what you're dealing with, trying to treat a 'proper' illness like idk, liver failure (that escalated quickly!) with homeopathy is pretty dumb in my opinion, but as I said, it did help with me & my PMS. But then again we've also established it's a bit unsure what was in that vial ;)

i think all this placebo, 'thought medicine', spiritual healing stuff etc goes to show that there is a real, but as yet unguessed at mechanism for the power of the will to affect the physical world.. which is what majick practitioners have been utilising for thousands of years

poltergeist phenomena too is widely thought to be an objective product of the mind, usually affecting pubescent boys/girls

foreigner is a doctor?
swoon <3

A good proper Smack habit that stops The Menstrual Cycle dead in it's tracks .

But then you have a Girlfriend with a Smack habit n that's much more hard work trust me .

It's my view that the placebo effect is required in all treatments, in addition to an actual effective healing modality. Without the placebo the outcome will be more poor regardless of what kind of medicine you practice.

I'm an eastern practitioner... acupuncture, herbalism, massage and diet therapy are my specialties, but I'm also versed in a big cross-section of western medicine. :D

A few years back I didn't have my period for liek 2 years because of how skinny I was. I don't care if that's TMI, it was bloody (well, not really...geddit? *badum tss*) awesome. Not very healthy though.

LOL she aint on smack, brimz. she doesnt even smoke, do weed or anything. she's a junior doctor, already dealing with terminal patients, injecting joints, working 90hr+ plus weeks and she's just decided to specialise in orthodontic surgery, which so she tells me - is just about the most difficult program of all to get accepted on - and though i know she's easily capable of doing it, theres no way she could be anything but straight, even on a moralistic level. she also has important exams every couple months that - though she's fully able to ace - still stress her out weeks beforehand. she contantly amazes me.. nobody works harder than western junior doctors, trust me.

as for the smack, i aint even on it anymore, realised i couldnt do both and actually, being flooded with good vibes at the time - it wasnt nearly as hard to drop as i thought it was going to be. thats why i adore her so, she literally saved my life

..oh :(

Postmen and women do.

Coils are great. My missis got a coil about 5 years ago, periods are heavier than when she was on the pill, but her mood is so much better. Starflower oil seems to help her mood. I'm not convinced by any of it, but placebo or not, it seems to help, a bit. =D

You are aren't the only person here that has worked for The Royal Mail & i agree it is hard work especially in the Winter but it's not mentally challenging at all once you know what your doing .

It has got harder in the last decade . But when i did it we had 6 day weeks . I would do it again but they haven't got any jobs .

Not having a Dig just saying from my experience working as a RM Delivery Specialist /Technician :)

mailmonkey you joker.. you get half the soddin day off. thats if you even bother to turn up at all. fair enough you deal with some shite weather.. and i agree the oldschool ones - old oldschool in your case ;) - are generally better, but the new gen are half soaked

trust me, nobody works with as much pressure, under such scrutiny or as many hours as junior doctors. like i said, 90hour weeks are regular, often exceeding 100. little in the western world can top that

When i was there if you were late & hadn't phoned in sick they would send a Van round your house & wake you up cos 99% of the time it's cos of Hangovers .

The problem with that was the person they sent round would hammer your door n ring the bell till you got up with no respect foir any housemates you may have .
Do they still do that MM? Or is it just in the Big Sorting offices.

I got to agree With BHM that a Junior Doctor is under far more pressure than a Postman . If you fuk up a letter generally nowt happens . If you fuk up an I.V or the like ypu could kill someone
So it's not really a fair comparison .

its not even just pressure, you could argue every job has its associated stress. its purely the hours that shocked me.. they are literally worked till they almost drop. its become a catch all argument stopper.. and has taken all the dumb, silly fun shit we used to do together - right out of the picture. hoping it gets better once she's passed junior stage. but not holding my breath

lol brimz and BHM I wasn't being in any way serious saying that postal workers work harder than junior doctors. It's probably more physically demanding than being a junior doctor, but that's about it. Junior doctors have to LIVE their fucking work, and as you say, they work about 3 times as many hours a week as a postie anyway...they must be thinking about it constantly, studying, fucking terrible, and all that with hardly any sleep either...and then going home to your nutter of a boyfriend =D

Goodish day today, finished just after one. Didn't start till 7. Came home for 40 minutes for a sarnie and some ribena. Had a spliff and listened to some tunes in the van between sections. Still getting paid till 3 even though I was all done and at home. Spanish practices rule. =D . Bit easier than junior doctoring, as I said. ;) But I bet I'm fitter than most of them.

Bandw, That shit with all the new vans does my head in. Royal mail got some Green Award for being one of the greenest companies in the UK a couple of years ago, now we don't use trains, we use lorries and aircraft....no more bikes, very few just walking rounds...evrythings in vans now, where one minibus used to go round and drop you all off at the start of your round, now we have about 10 vans. All driving round as fast as they can, never getting out of second gear, very green.

And I hope you don;t think of me every time you see a RM van or lorry, the fuckers are everywhere.

Anyway on topic, women, drive me nuts they do.

Sorry 2 b off topic .
But i gotta know if they still do this MM ?

Yes, there was a known pisshead in the last office I worked out and the van was out regular for him...that was at 5am starts too.. =D

They still do it if you oversleep and don't answer your phone and shit, but if you phone in sick now they leave alone.

Cheers . It's fukin crazy when your on the other end & your doorbell is going n waking up the whole gaff . Works though :)
5:15 starts when i was there.

sorry mm, didnt clock on you were taking the piss... dont know whats wrong with me today, really aint with it. which means im only just about bluelight's brightest, instead of way out in the fucking sunset as usual

and why is it such a big deal if a van comes to your door... have fun knocking my door, cunts

as for my little machine, itd take a good few lobotomies to make even a dent on my all-round brilliance - and i know reading about my other love must be painful.. but tl;dr? come on <3
