Malefic is the guy behind Xasthur; see if you can "To Violate the Oblivous". And yes, doom is great- I tend to like the uber slow, such as Esoterc, Tyanny, dISEMBOWLMENT, Ahab, though moreso DRONNNNNNE.

An awesome metal band/s: Paysage D'Hiver and Darkspace. Described as ambient black metal, P D'H is vey ambient, Darkspace is damn heavy: each album is called "Dark 1, Dark 2, Dark 3" and the song are called Dark 1.1, Dark 1.2, Dark 1.3 etc. Their frst and third albums are the best IMO.

Also, they sing in a language they don't even know- whats could be bad about that? :D

Album is fucking incredible. Ive had it 2 days, and have listened to it 9 times through. I love this, its just as good as Ithyphallic (although, still doesnt come near In Their Darkened Shrines, my personal fav).

Lyrically its a bit less interesting than some other albums, I think its about a muslim prophet entering the Egyptian pantheon and challenging some of the demigods' and dieties' supremacy. I found prior albums to be a lot more headspacey, but this album is a lot more forward and brutal.

4/5 spikes.

IMO Nile is THE best band in Death Metal. Cant wait to see them tour this winter.

Metal was the first style I really got into. I was about two, and it was Judas Priest all the way. Years later, I listen to everything, but I listen to metal still, and it holds a place in my heart.
 
I like classic stuff like priest and motorhead, classic doom like sabbath, saint vitus, thrash like slayer and sodom, death metal like death and bolt thrower, grind like carcass.. All except (bad) metalcore, not awesome shite like converge and fucking haymaker!


I'm BIG into black metal and Mainly Sludge Metal.
