yeah another great reccomendation from SonOF -> Despised Icon are great. I have a few tracks so far, in the process of getting their discog.
My only qualm is the hardcorey-high end vocalist (unless its the same guy, props to his dynamic range then). But he kind of ruins it when he gets too high sometimes - just not full control. The death metal vocals guy pulls off the sewer pipe style extreme baratone grind real good.
They are a bit too new school for me, their songs are just really choppy and dont really make sense compositionally, too much randomness. They have some MEAN fucking nasty breakdowns tho, i love em. If theyd drop the change-to-a-new-unrelated-sequence thing every 45 seconds like all uncreative grindcore artists are doing, this band would be phenomenal. I guess this is extremely opinionated tho. Overall this band is def worth getting, they are pretty brutal. Hardcore-influenced-death metal is a good description.
But yeah i love dying fetus and skinless, two of my fav bands, and ur comparison of those two to Despised Icon is pretty accurate, in fact when the death metal singer is going across some breakdowns they sound exactly like skinless mixed with a lot more speed (skinless tends to be in the medium-speed range imo). I really like this band's drummer too, this guy has to be a freggin genius to pull off the myriad of licks and tricks he throws together.

Im a bit dissapointed with the new Nile. Dont get me wrong, its really good, but I was really hoping for something to top Annihilation of the Wicked. While every single album Nile has put out has been far beyond excellent, they, IMO, had a constant linear progression of satisfaction with each album (wrt the listener). Ithyphallic is awesome in that In Their Darkened Shrines kind of way, which is an excellent album as well. Theres something about AOTW that just blows me the hell away moreso than moth great death metal albums. Maybe because I spent 3 hours in a tatoo chair listening to it...
Anyways, if U like death metal (then of course u dig nile) you should get ahold of Ithyphallic. Its a great album, but not their best in my honest opinion.

I mentioned this way back when it was released, but the new Dying Fetus album is their best one yet. War of Attrition does leave my brain bleeding just slightly more than Stop at Nothing. Its the perfect mosh pit music, really smooth heavy breakdowns and tight transitions into speed drumming and riffing. Course thats every dying fetus song... I just been listening to WOA a ton lately.
