apparently they have two other studio albums as well...I have to catch up. Found this on Decibel Magazine's top albums of 2006 list, and downloaded it...good stufffff

I like your logic.

However, more metalheads still need to improve their smell. I'm always next to that slippery long haired fuck that smells like a sweaty toilet at shows.
 
ive heard a few french death/black metal bands. cant recall any names, but friend was tuning me in to some last time i went on a road trip to a show. least i can say is i was impressed. Id like to see a metal deathmatch between french and german/polish/slavic death metal tho.
 
dudes, the latest release from Anteaus is called Blood Libels and it kicks tons of ass. French BM, heavy, clear mix, really hard stuff. Good shit, best black metal album of recent times that ive heard.

check this vid out, its a couple of like 9-13 year olds doing a cover of Death's Suicide Machine. The quality is terrible, filmed on a home vhs recorder in 1994, so u can barely hear the guitar at times, and the vocals really overpower most of the music. The little kid on the drums is fantastic tho, and the guitar player has it down perfectly, just plays it like 1/4 of a beat slower i think. the vocalist kinda sux actually heh but still, these kids are way metal.

Neva heard them frenchies? They have some of the best BM nowadays. Blut Aus Nord, Deathspell Omega, my buddies all psyked on Belenos and they are all putting out real innovative high quality stuff.
 
Why are you guys surprised about French metal bands? Why is France surprising, but not every other country that produces metal?

France doesn't exactly have a history of heavy music.
 
Neither does any other country, since heavy music is only 50 years old or so.
 
yeah, I dont understand the perceived dissociation between France and metal. Some of the darkest metal scenes ever have come out of France.

no matter how talented the musicianship may be, i will never be able to take any french musician seriously smiply because they are from france. sorry.

aside from pretty much allowing the USA to win the revolutionary war, france's only other good output is a few death metal bands. Still havent heard any BM but this Antaeus band, but theyre pretty damned metal. I def woulda guessed these guys were scandanavian.

and no, im not crediting them (the frensh) with the "french kiss" since a lot of research shows it was ancient nomadic tribes inhabiting the russian steppes who may have started that custom.
 
Jeez, you guys are so goddamn touchy.

The French, while they may have put out some metal bands, are NOT KNOWN FOR METAL in the same way that England, the US, and Scandinavia are. That's it. I'm sure SOMEBODY is making metal in Uzbekistan and Guatamala too, but their not exactly hotbeds for heavy music.
