African Americans and christianity?

I want to know why it's so important to you two to racialize Jesus? Yes he was a man "of color", with the exception of albinos all humans are presons of color.

I don't want to be accused of being a neo-Lysenkoist, because there are elements of truth to sociobiological theories. Biological variations do infact exist between racial groups but I have a feeling you guys are interested in enforcing some kind of social definition you have about different races not looking at minute biological differences just for the hell of it.

I don't think Jesus would have approved of this thread....

Haha......thats right.....real africans aint african unless theyre dark skinned and wide nosed.....egyptians aint african, lmao.....prejudice shinin' on thru...

I have a Haitian friend who will aboslutely flip a fuckin wig if you call him African or African American.

He has a really thick French/East Antillean accent (not Jamaican but just that crazy Haitian accent, i dunno.) It sounds crazy to most Americans black or white or any other color. "African" for some reason, he speaks french like a pro but his Enlish is decidely foriegn. Anyway this one time I had to hold him back from strangling some other black guy in a 7-11 after he told him to "get yo ass back to Africa". He went ape shit: "I'm not no Africaaaan!! I never been to Africa!! You say that for what!?!?!" The guy left looking very confused.

People's skin color doesn't say anything about who they really are...

I got a question, Im from australia so I dont really know any Afican Americans.

Do African americans on average, compared to whites have lower levels of education?

I don't mean to be offensive but just wondering about it, as from what I understand, the higher level of education someone has, the less likely they are to believe in god or follow religions. Could this be a factor?

Yes black identified Americans are typically less educated, and that is in no way offensive. It's the sad truth about a disenfranchised minority. That is not the type of question people should be afraid to ask!

i think yall totally missed what i was sayin....like totally over ur head.....

i was saying its funny how from this guys point of view it seems like dude thinks you aint african unless youre black....africa is africa muh fuckas......whether you senegalese or nigerian or egyptian its all africa..........i was laughin at th fact that "those jews aint african" africa is a continent not a country or a race so quit actin like bein african is the same as bein black....its ignorant....

I didn't mean to derail the thread to the poitn where poeple are calling ea other prejudiced or ignorant. I was responding to the comment someone had made claiming African Americans had embraced a "white religion." Whether or not you believe Jesus was black isn't important here. The main poitn is that Christianity traces its roots to Africa and the Middle East and is definitely not a "white man's religion".

^^word but there is a couple ways to look at that....

i think what they meant was not chrisitanty came from europe or whatever, it definately came from the continent of africa BUT, they simply were sayin it was not the natural religion of alot of the people who lived in africa.

people who had their own religion and culture and then got brought to america usually by slave traders etc, were forced to become chrisitan alot of the time once they got to america. so yea, the religions roots may be in africa the continent, but that dont mean that it wasnt the white mans religion once we take shit to america.

white people put their religion on the slaves for the most part, nuff sed. roots of chrisitainty = not white. the practicers and forcers of the christinaty, the ppl who caused many black ppl to adopt the religion= white. its simple.....

i aint sayin anything about it of my own here im just tryna clarify whats goin on here i gues...

ps.....if you interested in that type of thing check out the history of santeria....slaves would attirubute the name of a christian saint to one of the deities in their own religion to be "undercover" , allowed to practice their own religion, while acting like they were doin chrisitainty.....that shits pretty interesting too....
but this thread is goin mad off topic so i aint gonna contribute to that no more my ramblin is done:)
