There have scarcely been some dodgy adulterants in weed over the years but for the most part it's very safe.

Some dealers in Europe were putting lead in their weed to add extra weight which in tun gave smokers lead poisoning 8)

I was told that stuff was cut with gravox and epsom salts.
Very skeptical, but none the less it was difficult to smoke, very harsh, sizzled in the cone, rarely pulled through and cut up really small.

I will say one thing though, it got you a really heavy fucking stoned.
 
It varies from batch to batch same as any other weed. Some of it has been great, other times it has been weak bud, but with the same sizzling, fizzing and impossible to sink.

I didn't buy it mouldy, that's the worst part, it could have been avoided! I should have given it 48 hours in a paper bag to cure a bit more rather than throwing it straight in plastic in my jar.

You want to dry it first. Curing starts when it is sealed up in a jar.
 
I used to have what I called the "Jar of the Kings." It was the finest buds from every grow over many years. Properly stored and cured well, the buds where awesome a few years after they were harvested. Grow your own and avoid all this "adultered" bud crap.
 
didn't want to start new thread on it, but doing some baking tomorrow night. Firstly, got my bud and it's still pretty damp, what's the best way to dry it out? Also, from experience what is a suggested boiling time? Cheers
 
cheers mate, what about the butter boiling though, read all sorts of different info but would like to hear from one of you guys if you've done it before. Does degrading have much of a role after a certain time?
 
Have a look in CD, there are heaps of cooking threads. Watch out for all the trolls and kids in there though.
 
I found some pics I took of the adulterated weed. Thankfully it is long gone now.

If you zoom in on the leafy patch in the middle you'll see some mould on the leaf. You can't distinguish the tell tale adulterated crystals with the camera though, only with the naked eye.
 
Here are some photos of the crap that's floating around the Gold Coast lately. First is this moldy bud. The dealer might warn you that it's moist and needs to be dried out first, but some of the buds have already started growing thick mold in them. The second photo is of the infamous "Gravy Weed" which is plaguing our country. When you have a bud of this in your fingers, just rubbing it makes heaps of brown sandy stuff fall out. If you rubbed all the buds until this stuff was gone, they'd weigh less than a quarter of what they started out at, they're so tightly packed with this stuff. It doesn't burn! You have to hold the lighter over the cone burning away the whole time, it doesn't stay lit on its own. After you cough out the harsh, revolting smoke, you're left with a hard ball of crusty ash in the cone that you have to dig out every time. The last time I got this crap, I didn't even have any, I took these photos of it and got rid of it. So, here I present for everyone the unsmokable weed that you should always so NO to!

It's hard to tell in the gravy weed pic you got on the left, but from what ive been thinking is gravy weed probably isnt:\



The one time I bought what I thought was it, the buds were completely black in colour, as was the chop.
 
YUCK!!!

I know it's just dick sizing, but I get the best weed I've ever had for free lol "California dream" strain, and grown by someone I know. Beautiful stuff.

At you're photo's again YUCK!

It's weird though, weed was one of the last things I would've expected to drop so badly in quality.
