Adulterated cannabis

Has anyone heard of some 'black weed' going around Brisbane, or ever received some? I don't use marijuana but my brother does and he got some a couple of weeks ago, said it was really bad. I'm just curious what it was.

Did he mention if the buds had a fine black powder over them?

I got black buds about 6 months ago in NSW, and it was terrible smoke :\
 
^ I think perhaps it was black powder, because he gave me a call the other night in a panic because the black material had turned to white. He said that it seemed to rub off the buds easily enough. Perhaps it is the powder you mentioned?
 
^ Yeah sounds exactly like the stuff I had. It dosent completely burn and pull through a bong, taste's liek crap and is weak as hell.
 
This probably isnt the case blonde, but I've notice if you chop up freshly picked bud without drying it properly the weed will often turn dark brown or black. Maybe your brother got gravox weed?

I recently came across some bud that smelt very odd. The odour was really sweet and almost smelt lemony or minty and lacked the usual dank marijuana smell. My friend suggested flyspray but i wasnt convinced because it smoked pretty smooth and didnt have any chemical odour?

In canberra we dont get too much variation in terms of different strains (as far as i can tell). Does some weed naturally smell like this.

Yes, lemon smelling cannabis exists. It's a fairly unique strain you only see in small quantities, as a lot of people (I hear anyway), have been importing exotic seeds from AMSTERDAM. In fact, I have my self a nice jar full of it as we speak. Very enjoyable indeed. It's a fuckin creeper though.

Yeah the thing is this weed is pretty average, nothing special. Its also quite a dark brown. I'm not hoping for an identification or anything as that would be near impossible but maybe people have come across this before.
 
I know this is old as hell, but I'm ultra paranoid because the last batch I got was just- not right. Never seen anything like it. Supposed to be KB, but hard to get a good high. Very Moist, but burned super fast and left only black ash. Not necessarily oily ash though. After I let it dry some, Very gritty. At first, I thought I was just pulling an abnormal amount of kief, etc... IDK, I was stoned! Luckily, it just weirded me out enough that I switched to a gravity and after researching and making myself sufficiently paranoid, stopped altogether. With the "symptoms" of the batch, I considered the possibility of an improper flush or lack of curing even. Here's the crazy thing that's scaring the hell out of me (and probably making me sound like an insane person). A few days later, I noticed there were sparkles in my mucus. So help me God. I have photos. It doesn't seem to rub off as "grit" or particles when dried though. I guess another way to put it would be my saliva is glittery. Maybe some chemical compounds reacting with my own biochemistry and me being dehydrated? I keep getting random salty tastes in my mouth and on my lips. As you might imagine, I can't find ANYTHING about sparkling spit online. The closest break in my case came tonight with some Pubmed abstract I found about saliva usually being "supersaturated with respect to calcium phosphate salts, calcium carbonate, calcium oxalate." Something about it has to do with crystals... Could some sort of grow chemical or leftover nutrients from improper flushing be a factor? So now, I HAVE NO F-ING IDEA. My seller is my neighbor. Said they had no issues and had been smoking it for at least a week. No complaints from anyone else either. Even took my unused portion in exchange for this new dense, red hairy, crystal batch. Positive they are clueless. Say their contact gets from dispensary. But anyway... SPARKLES?! WTF??? IDEAS??? Oh, also, I'm from the US. (Hi!)
