Actor Philip Seymour Hoffman Found Dead of Apparent Overdose

now dead because he probably knew that society would shun him if he IV'd in public
Plenty of that going on before heroin was shunned. It was an unfortunate accident. There is a lot more to say about what could have been done to help him than letting junkies shoot up outside.

^ Didn't they know each other from work or something? I usually have the numbers of my work colleagues, or those I've worked with in my phone.

Did you read something that I didn't there is absolutely nothing in that article that would make me believe he was anything other than Hoffmans friend.
From what I read it sounded like he wouldn't have sold to PSH. Well if so, not in that quantity. It's all supposition at this point.
I don't believe in the criminal justice system, but I hope Vineberg gets a fair trial.

Hoffman left a message telling Vineberg that he had quit using. Hoffman starts using again and withdraws $1200. Hoffman is found dead in his apartment with red and black envelopes. Investigators following an anonymous source, who say they saw Hoffman stop by an apartment to possibly pick up drugs. They find 100's of red and black envelopes, $1200, and Vineberg.

I can imagine other explanations, but it sounds pretty convincing.

^ trial-by-media?
I think "innocent until proven guilty" is a very important principle to observe, especially in cases of overblown publicity, celebrity, scapegoating and celebrity culture.
Witch hunts don't serve any purpose but fuelling the fires of this hysteria.

Well, you're saying exactly 1200$ that would be a little too convenient. Can't trust the cops. Vineberg deserves to be tried in court, not in the press

But you cannot make friends with the rock stars.

- Is it okay if I-- - If you’re gonna be a true journalist--

you know, a rock journalist--

First, you never get paid much.

But you will get free records from the record company.

Jesus.

Fucking nothing about you that is controversial, man.

God, it's gonna get ugly, man. They're gonna buy you drinks.

You're gonna meet girls, they're gonna fly you places for free, offer drugs.

I know it sounds great, but these people are not your friends.

These are people who want you to write sanctimonious stories...

about the genius of rock stars.

And they will ruin rock 'n' roll, and strangle...

everything we love about it, right?

And then it just becomes an industry of cool.

I'm telling you, you're coming along at a very dangerous time for rock 'n' roll.

That's why I think you should turn, go back, and be a lawyer or something.

But I can tell from your face that you won't.

I can give you bucks.

- Give me , words on Black Sabbath. - An assignment?

You have to make your reputation on being honest...

and...

you know, unmerciful.

Honest.

Unmerciful.

If you get into a jam, you can call me.

I stay up late.

he probably was taking suboxone for a little bit to try and lower his usage

went and bought 50 bags of "not the cheap stuff" (the dealer tell you that?)

went home, sat on the bed, shot up all five at once

dead

if he got a brick at the time and it came with two different stamps it probably meant he got it from someone who doesnt have access to a large amount at a time which could explain the 10k a month part a bit more reasonably. Even if you were to only get a bundle by itself everyday you would have to buy around a hundred of them over the span of 30 days to even get close to 10k a month.
no way was that all just on heroin

wait am I reading that right 1,200 dollars for 50 bags?

24 dollars a bag and you bought 50 of them at a time?

now that is criminal

no my math is criminal thats 1,000 bags a month or like 32 a day

still though, sad news. I'll be honest I wasnt a huge fan of the guy but feel bad for that headline and the kids

nah it clearly stated "10,000 a month on heroin" in the one article I dont feel like quoting on my phone now

dude was getting ripped off by all standard practices unless that number is just inflated to cover the other drugs he probably took as well

just throwing this out there, he probably enjoyed an escort here or there. shit adds up
