Absolute BEST SSRI

I think that you've got an oxymoron going , best ssri is a phrase that doesnt exsist they're all awful. Prozac was the least damaging and least inneffective for me.
 
There is no answer because every SSRI affects everyone differently. I've known people who have gotten their best results from effexor (I think thats an SNRI though), lexapro, zoloft........ unfortunately they all had to switch from SSRI to SSRI until they found the one that works for them.

It all depends on YOU
 
Cymbalta is the only one to ever work for me. But its not even an ssri, its a serotonin and norepinephrin re-up inhibitor. I agree that for every person theres a different effective anti depressant.

I've switched around from Cipralex to Luvox, two SSRI's with only shitty experience; I then tried Effexor (yes it's an SNRI :D) and so far have been getting good results.

All these meds are so dependant on your own brain chemistry.. You only know if it'll work if you try it.
 
I know I am in the minority here, but I had nothing but good luck with Remeron. It made sleep come very easily, and I always woke up slightly buzzed in the morning and in a very good mood the rest of the day. It is the only ssri I have tried (paxil, wellbutryn, zoloft(the worst by far) lexapro, etc) that gave me any sort of beneficial effects. It tended to cause very vivid, memorable dreams too.
 
Dont know about the BEST, but I take 100mg of Luvox (Fluvoxamine) per day. Also just bumped from 95MG to 107MG of Methadone per day.
 
I never found one that worked for me with tolerable side effects. I decided I could live my life free of SSRIs and I think I'm doing just fine without them. I just went through a normal phase of teenage depression and I thought meds could help, but the nasty side effects seemed to out-weigh the benefits so I eventually gave up on them. Out of all the SSRIs I tried, celexa was the one I hated the least.

i got a little theorie that a low dose of something like LSD is a "direct" SSRI

SSRI tend to stimulate all serotonin receptros causing side effects
