A week since no opiates, still can't get 8hrs of sleep PLEASE HELP

Anyone think Trazadone will help? I've got some of those and I remember them not being worth a shit but for immediate sleep.

^trazodone is definitely sleep-inducing, however many people feel lethargic the day after taking it.

>1. stop all drugs (Impossible in this world; what if you actually get sick??)
>2. maintain a regular regimen of daily activities (Possible)
>3. eat healthy (Possible)
>4. exercise vigorously, each day (NO! the body needs recovery time & relaxation)
>5. be patient (Possible)

there are people who have serious pain and are prescribed hard opiates and refuse to take them. same goes with benzos. very simply put there are people who don't take 'mind altering drugs.'

exercise is actually good during for you. i'd find when i stretched the day after waking up feeling like shit i'd feel a bit better. in rehab we'd work out and that fer sure helps with just feeling overall better, it releases endorphins and just helps yer body, wd, paws, or not.

either way op yer gonna have to wait it out.. for me it only lasted about a week or two.

@ Volcano; I feel your pain brother! I have had to go cold turkey b4 myself from opiates, and it is as close to a hell on earth as I can imagine. Regardless, I have done it, therefore it can b done.
You r lucky to have benzos, in fact most rehabs use those at beginning. So, it sounds like your biggest problem is sleeping.
Benzos def help w sleep, but there are some other things u can add as well. Go to a pharmacy and get yourself some Melatonin, and some Benadryl(liquid is best). Also some Nyquil and tylenol pm can come in handy, as well as valeriun root tea.
You should try and get physical activity in daytime, whatever you can handle, i.e; jogging, walking, biking, swimming, and try to get it for at least an hour. Being out in the sun will also help, in fact get some vitamin D at pharmacy as well, as it simulates some of the benefits from sunlight.
Now, I would start a routine (if you can) of something like this:
1. Take tylenol every 4 hours/ and tylenol pm after 6pm
2 Get physical activity at least once/day, and twice would b even better
3. Drink caffeine products early in day, and green tea later in day, and the valerian tea at night
4. Take your benzos throughout the day, every 6 hrs or so, and take a big dose an hour or so b4 bed.
5. after6pm start taking melatonin and benadryl every few hours until bed, take last doe w last dose of benzos and take entire dose w big cup of valerian tea(**btw, use like 3-4 tea bags when making the tea, that will make it stronger, its actually derived from same chem. that valium comes from)
If you still are not able to sleep, take some extra tylenol pm's and start downing some Nyquil, use about 4x reccomended dosage, so instea of 1-2 cps, take like 4, and go from there****Please start on lower end, as you can always add more but you cant subtract!
I also take Kolonopin, and it is a long acting benzo, so I would take it on a regimen throughout day to build up constant level in blood, and use the valium at night to help w the sleep, also the melatonin and benadryl should b taken later in the day.
These are just some tips that helped me get through the hell you are presently in. I cant guarantee they work for everyone, but imo, it cant hurt to try*
Also, masturbating frequently, listening to soothing music, and watching good movies will help as well. Same w hot showers.
If you can get Tramadol, that will help as well, as it hits opiate receptors in brain even though it is not considered an opiate. I find most drs prescribe it easily, so if u can get your doc to write u a script, by all means do so, it would take the place of many of the above items.
I wish u the best in your battle and hope you are able to get a good night's sleep soon, B.C

I don't drink

I went back to sleep with a Melatonin I took with a banana about 6:30AM and slept another 2 1/2 hours or so so I guess I met my 6 hour a night quota.

I didn't think it would be this bad. Jesus Christ I can't imagine coming off Oxy or Heroin. 90% of what I was doing was just DHC IR

I can't fucking smoke any real pot right now. I got laid off in March and my unemployment runs out pretty soon so I got clean from the mary jane. I do some some JWH pre-packaged blends though (don't shoot me, I get them cheap!)

I only got on the opiates because mom died and it felt good to escape.

The benzos, a legal script, have never been a problem for me.

>1. stop all drugs (Impossible in this world; what if you actually get sick??)
You live through it. Then it gets better. Worked for me. Works for alot of people.

>2. maintain a regular regimen of daily activities (Possible)
>3. eat healthy (Possible)
>4. exercise vigorously, each day (NO! the body needs recovery time & relaxation)
Your body needs to rid itself of toxins. Exercise will help. It will also release chemicals that help you to relax.

>5. be patient (Possible)

6. Be realistic; study and research your problems and see a doctor regarding sleep patterns, possibly a psychiatrist.
7. Don't rely on message forums/Internet for maintaining homeostasis
8. Read steps 1-through-7 again, and Good Luck!

i went to detox for 5 days. couldnt sleep well during or after, doc prescribed me 100mg seroquels... 30 only... i used when i felt like it, never abused, worked awesome..

i think taking a buffet of drugs throughout the day to sleep at the end is downright silly... exhausting the body by exercise is a good method. also, instead of trying to sleep, then lying in bed not being able to sleep, stay up AS LONG AS YOU CAN, until your body is just ready to shut off... a psychiatrist can get you seroquels, family doc too. they cause problems long term, so be wary

I legally take a buffet of drugs. The only things I've 'added in' was the xanax. I've got legal Rxs to a bevy of medications due to my condition. A lot of time was spent tweaking my medicine regiment to my condition. TN/MS patients often try a lot of meds before they find a working combo. If carbamazepine, lyrica or neurontin worked -- I'd take them.

Soma is an exception but that's more like drinking a beer lol

I did get about 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep, but I had smoked DMT twice earlier in the day. I have no idea, if any DMT plays on the sleep patterns but everytime I smoke it my wife says I snore like a mofo
