Who's playing the next nutshell? I'm hoping it's Freq Nasty since hell be in the country.

There's infected mushroom on the 3rd of March too! Hopefully the M-bar will sort out their sound system for that.

I've heard nothing but good things about James Taylor, so I'm stoked he's playing. I'd honestly go to Nutshell just for Kato & Aux though.
 
I'm confused, is Sonic Animation on the 27th or Australia Day?
I thought it was the 27th and I was trying to decide between that and happy hardcore at the Cambridge. Has anyone heard anything about this gig?
 
Sonic Animation is on the 27th of Jan from 10pm at Mbar.

There's also an Australia Day Eve gig on at Mbar on Wed 25th of Jan which features Patsan, Aux, Kato and Matmeller. Goes from 9pm til 5am and it's free entry.

Sonic Animation over happy hardcore ANY day Bel - Sonic Animation are incredibly dancy and will leave happy 'hardcore'.

Drater: Agree with you about Kato and Aux - I've been to many a nutshell where the internationals bored or dissapointed me and it was their sets (+fallons") that made it all worthy.
 
Hell yeah to Sonic Animation over happy hardcore. Especially considering it's their last tour ever.

Although I'm not really into the raver scene, so I guess I'm biased. But hey, to each their own.

I think I'm actually more looking forward to Wednesday night shenanigans than Sonic Animation, because I know the crowd is going to be smaller so there will be more room to dance. Meh.

what does t.a.p.p.e.d stand for? seeing it's a hardcore(ish) night i'll assume it's something even cheesier than the name of russell crowe's new band? ;) don't mind me, i'm just fucking with you because i'm pretentious and 36+ hours into xanax withdrawal.

despite my musical preferences, best wishes for the night. at least you're adding diversity to the almost non-existent newcastle scene.

Well, Sonic Animation was tops. Glad to see that so many people stayed afterwards too. Ended up staying until about 7am, which I didn't expect. So, yeah. Was a fantastic night all up. :)

How was everyone else's night?
 
I live in Newcastle during uni semesters, but otherwise exist in Bathurst.. Do I count? :P
 
I'm not from Newcastle (my apologies) but I really find it kinda funny how a Sydney thread of similar nature was quickly locked down.

WHAT IS EVERYONE'S PROBLEM WITH SYDNEY!?!

Oh yeah, and Newcastle rocks, I'll never forget that party Moocho threw near Wickam station.
