Finally it clashes with a weekend I am actually in Newcastle on a Sunday. And what happens, I have not one, but TWO other things I need to be at...!

That does sound good! Isn't it Dixx versus Trashdance or something?

Did you end up going to Nutshell?

I'm not sure if it's Dixx verses Trashdance. I honestly didn't really have a close look at the poster. All I saw was "Dixx" "Clarendon" "Sunday" and I was in.

Yeah, went to Nutshell. Twas brilliant. It's the best one I've been to music-wise. Everything played was just consistently good. Even one of the blokey blokes I was with said that he loved every single minute of the music played.

Top moment? When James Taylor played "Killing in the Name Of" and everyone on the dance floor (even the people who are usually non-dancey) went completely nuts. It was brilliant.

T.A.P.P.E.D. 2

2 for $15 presale tix is a good start to get me interested. It would also be good to see ASSASSN going hard.

Hmmmmmm

Belisimo - I've only seen your post since I got home, but I was so about to come say hi to you and ask if you were Belisimo! I was wearing the blue singlet top and head band, dancing around like a drunken loon in the wading pools. Didn't wear my full flashdance getup, but definitely regretted it later.

So much fun and so much drunkeness. Dear god.

what does t.a.p.p.e.d stand for? seeing it's a hardcore(ish) night i'll assume it's something even cheesier than the name of russell crowe's new band? ;)

It stands for "True Australians Prefer Perfectly Equalized Decibels":)

While the name might *stand* for something cheesier than Russel Crowes very shit band, you really need to get yourself to the second one! It's this fri night (24th Feb) and is only $15 for 2 people if you print out this link: http://forum.echild.info/showthread.php?t=64103&highlight=T.A.P.P.E.D

I couldn't get to the 1st one but my mate said turnout was approx 150-200 which is actually damn good for an event of this type in Newcastle and seeing as it was the first time they tried it.
He said the dj's sets were top notch and lighting visuals very professional. From everyone I've been talking to on the net and irl, tapped 2 looks like it's going to be even bigger. I'd urge everyone who can make it come along and support a local event as we don't get much in the way of "raves" here.

btw, it's not just hardcore & happyhard, they will be playing other styles too.

Let's just hope they keep the happy hard to a minimum.

i didnt think there was 150-200 people there last time tho... maybe i was more smashed then i thought ;) hehe
