>>What do you want my "Opinion" on??>>
you said that, in lieu of giving your own opinion, you are instead quoting scripture
i was asking, what is your opinion on the scripture you are quoting. do you agree with it? because, if so, you could just say what the scripture says but in your own words, and people would take you a lot more seriously
---
>>And I dont beleive you dont know me well enough to make statements like this. You dont know anything about me or my Christian walk. Your judging me by a few posts, thats very narrow minded. >>
i am not saying anything about your christian walk, nor do i care to
also, i am not judging you, i am judging the
ideas you have expressed in those few posts, because i find
those ideas to be narrow minded
for example, you say i cannot judge you based on a couple posts, yet the scripture you quoted at me judges me (not to mention billions of other people who reject god) and says that i reject god because either i am hedonistic and want carnal pleasures, or i come up with "false" ideas about god and thus worship falsely
so, i am not judging you personally, i am judging your idea that everyone who rejects god is this way. it is demonstratably false,
*A) many people have zero knowledge of christianity and its ways, and have no knowledge of it, or the bible
*B) many christians/believers are arrogant, believe they know best for others, and/or are hedonistic. and many nonchristians/nonbelievers are humble, live and let live, reject sexual and other carnal desires, and/or are rather "christ-like"
*C) many people reject god on logical grounds, not based on hedonistic or selfish tendencies in any way whatsoever (this is more subjective, but it is demonstratably true for me, since i am myself and i reject god on grounds that have nothing to do with hedonism)
now, why do i think you are doing the same thing, ignoring the very passage you quoted? aka, my quote >>that is what i believe you, and many christians, have done, and are doing...>>
well this i CAN tell from just a few posts. in my opinion, the "golden" parts of the bible, the parts useful for personal and societal growth, come from the actual quotes of jesus. you have said these things about your god,
*1) >>God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness>>
*2) >>So they have no excuse for not knowing God.>>
*3) >>God made some vessels of Honor, and some for dis-honor. >>
*4) >>It saddens me that one is willing to send himself to hell over his own selfish desires and hes not willing to surrender to the God who made him.>>
this points to an anthropomorphized, angry, destructive, vengeful "god". not the one jesus mentioned, in the slightest.
then you make broad sweeping generalizations
against all non-believers
and then you claim that i can't make a judgement on you from just a couple posts,
which is just silly when you just made judgement on millions of americans without hearing anything from them on why they think the way they do
so, i would suggest reading the bible again, but this time focus on the four gospels, and have some compassion

seriously, i don't get what the vengeful old testament god does for peoples' psyche. well i guess i do sort of, but that's a scary thought...
