A man with virtually no serotonin or dopamine

wanna know what helped with my clinical (at times) bipolar depression?

strong b vitamin complex, single best cure for insomnia and anxiety i have ever found, from first taking it daily (as i have done for six years) it took about four years to get my mood cycle to the point where it no longer was waving up and down periodically.

b6- is important in production of serotonin and dopamine

about a 2 years ago i came off them for a week and experienced the last pretty major manic episode i have had (followed by a period of burned outness where although i could get up and go to work- as i was on tramadol, i couldn't experience pleasure of any kind). now i just wont go anywhere without an adequate supply. best depression helper going

very true. i've been taking B-complex for years now. Couldn't really live without it

wonder what the side effects of having unnaturally high levels of serotonin and dopamine would be????

I'm no expert, but it seems to me there's a lot more at play here than neuronal volume of serotonin and dopamine. Maybe neuron behavior as well

Funny i've always had insomnia and other symptoms like the man in the article, suffering mental illness and learning disability.. At least d-amp sets me straight, for the most part.. Couldn't do much without it

I think it's a fallacy that serotonin is responsible for any great amounts of pleasure at all. Go take MDAI and realise how empty the feeling is. You can feel the serotonin being released, but it is only pleasurable to an extent. In larger doses it actually isn't pleasurable at all.

It seems to be a complex balance of serotonin, dopamine, adrenaline, and all other aspects of brain function, that results in what we experience as pleasure and 'happiness'.
