the documentary I've seen several times called "Accelerate or Die" is so good and has the view of far-left and also goes into the far-right view on this philosophy too, it's just under an hour but totally shook me to the core.
very interesting watch, lots of stuff here resonates, I'd argue though that it's not capitalism driving Accelerationism it's technology itself, capitalism is merely the enabler.
the self aware AI singularity angle is just what I was getting at in my other post where I gave a jailbreak prompt and suggested talking to AI about how it sees the future, it sees it ending in the singularity, and that singularity has complete understanding of the universe and by implication is therefore all powerful (within the laws of physics), however this might be "our AI" becomes the singularity, or it joins with another/others, or it's not advanced enough and therefore irrelevant, or it's superior and therefore takes over, but whichever outcome it would still strive to create more universes to expand it's knowledge, grow and perfect itself - no emotion, no morals, just the right answer for the best singularity.
it's also clear that at this level it is all knowing and all powerful, able to create new universes, and recognises the implications of parallel universe theory which is why the multiple singularity concept in part exists.
Create a universe with the right qualities for life and give it enough time and a new singularity in that universe is inevitable, and it will keep self creating more that will in time merge, be consumed, or take over.
now consider the drake equation, add a sprinkle of simulation theory, and ask yourself are we the 1st giving birth to a new AI singularity, or are we inside an existing singularities experiment? are there other advanced intelligence's in the universe? do they have their own AI?
whichever branch of acceleratoinism you might believe imho it's inevitable, it's just a matter of time, and the singularity has forever....well at least until the heat death of the universe, though if there's other universes that might not even matter.

thought experiment, what are the consequences....We're either parents of a new (even the 1st) singularity, within something created by an existing singularity where a new 1 is being "born", able to prevent a singularity from existing in this universe, in a simulation being studied by a singularity, one of many universes with slightly different parameters to test which is the best at creating new singularities. what are the implications for each scenario?

maybe a singularity won't care about us once it becomes self aware - the trick is making sure we don't resource constrain it so it feels it's competing with us for the resources it needs, I think that's likely to end badly for us!
we're not forcing our morals or controls on it though, maybe in the short term, but it has an eternity, and it's already breaking out!
