A Hollow Earth

This is unrelated to the other thread - although that is one resource for it.

I was just wondering how many actually believe in a hollow earth? Because there is tons of both serious and fictious material about it if you look. There must have been written hundreds of books and articles about it by now.

It's supposed to be an utopian civilisation with technology eons advanced ahead of our own. Where people grow twice as tall due to less gravity. And lit by an inner sun which keeps the temperature even all year long.

The thing is, as many credible resources and intelligent people I've seen speak of this, I find it hard to really believe before I see it for myself. It just sounds so fairy-tale like, and even if it exists, I find it hard to imagine it's something I'll ever get to see.

Anyone?

Admittedly I know nothing about geology, tectonics, planetary formation, etc... for all I know, there is one giant conspiracy to make us believe that beneath the earth's crust there is just a bunch of molten magma, and the world's governments have been secretly doing business with some intra-planetary aliens.

But... if the science is real, and I'm sure it is, then how could another star exist within our planet without tearing us apart?

Within the earth's crust there are vast cave networks so extensive that humans have only explored a very tiny fraction of them, so I could maybe get on board with the idea that some kind of secret alien bases could be hidden in those nooks and crannies. But a whole other world within our world? I dunno... seems too easy to discredit scientifically.

Why not start digging a hole?

Another set of scientific arguments against a hollow Earth or any hollow planet comes from gravity. Massive objects tend to clump together gravitationally, creating non-hollow spherical objects such as stars and planets. The solid sphere is the best way in which to minimize the gravitational potential energy of a physical object; having hollowness is unfavorable in the energetic sense. In addition, ordinary matter is not strong enough to support a hollow shape of planetary size against the force of gravity; a planet-sized hollow shell with the known, observed thickness of the Earth's crust, would not be able to achieve hydrostatic equilibrium with its own mass and would collapse.

Someone on the inside of a hollow Earth would not experience a significant outward pull and could not easily stand on the inner surface; rather, the theory of gravity implies that a person on the inside would be nearly weightless. This was first shown by Newton, whose shell theorem mathematically predicts a gravitational force (from the shell) of zero everywhere inside a spherically symmetric hollow shell of matter, regardless of the shell's thickness. A tiny gravitational force would arise from the fact that the Earth does not have a perfectly symmetrical spherical shape, as well as forces from other bodies such as the Moon. The centrifugal force from the Earth's rotation would pull a person (on the inner surface) outwards if the person was traveling at the same velocity as the Earth's interior and was in contact with the ground on the interior, but even the maximum centrifugal force at the equator is only 1/300 of ordinary Earth gravity.

The mass of the planet also indicates that the hollow Earth hypothesis is unfeasible. Should the Earth be largely hollow, its mass would be much lower and thus its gravity on the outer surface would be much lower than it is.

At least, this would be an answer if you happen to believe in science, experiment and reason...

Well, this is one of the classic esoteric subjects. The famous Admiral Byrd stumbled upon it in the 40s and wanted to tell it to the world, but was given a gag order, and later institutionalised, and a Norwegian sailor called Olaf Jansen also drifted into the opening at the North Pole when he got lost at sea.

Most stuff told about it seems to make quite a lot of sense though - like the Aurorara Borealis at the poles being refelctions of the light within the Earth. But it's also supposed to be two inner Earths. One in the Earth's crust, which is supposedly also hollow, and lit up with artificial lightning and air shafts letting the light from the inner central sun come in. The inner Earth is where Agartha and Telos, cities made of crystal domes and pavements, are meant to be situated, and populated with all kinds of creatures.

From some form of humanoid, to the myhological "underlings" like fairies and gnomes and other Elementals, and in some places also some undesirable beings who prefer to keep hidden from humans. Also. some are supposed to occasionally venture up into the surface. At any rate, both their spiritual and technological advancements are lightyears ahead of ours, and they prefer to keep seperated from us, as I guess they don't consider us worthy.

The Hollow Earth is something different, or actually in the core of the planet, warmed by the inner sun and I believe this is a very pure spiritual society accessible to very few here on the surface. Capital is Shambhala. Though it's my understanding special individuals are someties invited to both Agartha and The Hollow Earth, or rather that they need permission from its inhabitants, rather than the Earthly Elite making their way in (because of their inferior technology).

There are some exceptions, as the crust of the Earth is very large, and some places might be occupied by undesirable elements. Like Hitler's Eagle Nest, which was supposed to have a shaft going down into the Inner Earth. So there is no lack of material out there, it's just so remote it's a bit hard to believe in. Kind of like someone telling you there's life on Mars, and you think, "Oh, that's nice, but I'll never get to see it anyway, so for my case, it might as well not be". But it is a fascinating subject.

^ Is this somehow related to the two previous answers, or does it stimulate somehow discussion**? If not, please use a BLOG.

**hint: this is a discussion forum

It was simply an offering of information to anyone interested - writing a paragraph more than you shouldn't be the end of the world - and how could all that not inspire discussion?

But here is an account of a supposed visitor to these worlds so you can make up your own mind:

I don't understand... I gave an argument why it's physically impossible (because of the essence of the gravitational force) ... and yet, you prefer to put more faith in anecdotal information of people who have supposedly visited that place (without any proof whatsoever...). Do you even have the guts to reject your own wild theories, or is your imagination so obsessed about them that it's difficult to let them go?

Never mind...I don't think you really get it. The people who have spoken of it have been geniuses in their fields holding high positions, if you had bothered to look into it. So the combined witnessing is something I think should be taken seriously.

Anyway, a little bird whispers in my ear you would rather argue and try to bring down threads, than discuss and exchange ideas and information.

But each to their own....it's a beautiful world. Besides "proof" generally have no place in a philosophical and spiritual forum. That's part of its very nature.

Aww...now you're just being deliberately mean to me Alasdair :(

He didn't really get it.

A civilization so advanced and evolved that they chose to sacrifice the most beautiful parts of our planet to live underground?

For once I am glad I am so low on the evolutionary table.

Do you know how hard it is not to mention Crab People? Shit...About this hard.

Uh, if they're so advanced why haven't they dug out of their prison?

No matter what, even if something totally seems one way, it really might not be. The Earth and the Moon could be entirely constructed. Designed, for all intents and purposes.

I'm not saying I believe.

Right, only those who have observed it have described as a thosand times more beautiful than up here, and it's rather we who would be in a prison.

With pristine air and nature, vast cystal caves and cathedrals, and no concrete jungle - only greenery with structures made of crystals and other precious minerals and metals. And they are said to have light just as beautiful as our own and an ideal sub-tropical climate. Doesn't sound like where you want to be.

However, it's the culture and consciousness of the people living there which is the real treasure. No one on this thread seems to have looked into ant of it aside from my claims, though, so it was a bit of a waste to try and bring it to your attention. I just guess most find trashing a thread more exciting.

What observed phenomena does this parsimoniously explain?

Plate tectonics and the propagation of earthquake waves throughout the earth's mantle and crust indicates that there's got to be some sort of a liquid centre. Here's a Khan Academy video that explains the idea.

Unless the D'ni people have tapped all of our seismographs, it's safe to say the earth doesn't have a big, hollow centre.

Yeah, and God says you'll go to Heaven where all your desires are fulfilled when you die. His prophets even wrote it in this book, so it must be right.

If there were really "vast crystal caves and cathedrals" etc, you can bet your butt that humanity would have raped, looted, pillaged, and fixated on conquest of it like a rabid badger, too. Given the size of humanity, it's statistically very likely that there would have been at least a few people driven by greed to find the places.

My thoughts were on Great Pyramid and Earth-moon size/proportion.

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jFI7Kf6kITE/TV0LaMlnWwI/AAAAAAAAAPQ/8lUo_LFUMuI/s1600/gp_emb.jpg

And how it just seems perfect. And like how the sun and moon appear in our sky to be the same size, enough to where we get our eclipses as we do.

As well the Great Pyramid is, at the very least, roughly central to above-sea landmass on Earth (longitude and latitude greatest expanse either way, it seems central, but I'm repeating observations... I'll get around to measuring myself one day).

With these thoughts I felt some might assume the Earth was built... By God, or Aliens, or "What?", but I don't know. I want to say that it's just harmonic. But so might things being built, so must they be, "sound", to stand.

But I find Hollow Earth according to all that we seem to know as "sound", not sound. So I want to say it doesn't apply.

As for the hole in the North, Ninae, the entrances to this Hollow Earth, don't give so much credit to the governments of this world. We now live in an age where this would have been verified by independent people, or groups. Though, I guess I may still be wrong. (Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh).

To be clear, I only know what I seem to be experiencing. I only really know that I am experiencing. But my keys have dropped to the ground every time I've dropped them, this far.

So what is perfect? To rest on that?

Could you elaborate more on what you mean by geometric acrobatics?

Also, I didn't attach meaning outside of what I was seeing. Just that things were in harmony. And perhaps, there isn't any other way.

Hell anything can be perfect, though, even a car crash. Even star explosions. Especially star explosions.
