can i come?
:\

if it's on June-July-August, I shall be Eurotripping my bollox off (lolseewhatididthere),
so should be able to drop by.

ach, if only it were in London.
There are so many things going on in the Summer,
plus accommodation is easier.
and throwing a party would be easier.
and there are many UK people who could sort "things" out much simpler...

Would still like to come but my work has unsociable holidays. Impossible for me to take time off except a few choice weeks a year.

Has there been any consensus on dates yet?

Has there been bluelighter meet ups before and were they successful?

Obviously Amsterdam is much better. For starters, we have coffeeshops, which you don't in London. Accommodation is just as easy, if not easier, brits tend to be very chaotic and uncoordinated with stuff like accomodations. I know by experience, having booked many B&B's and holiday homes in Brittain. Things are taken much better care of in the Netherlands. Throwing a party in Amsterdam would be easier as well, much less of a hassle as there's plenty of good locations in and around the city, and because of the smaller scale, going from one place to the other is much easier. And we have plenty of Dutch people who have already sorted out things, so not much has even had to be done to sort things out.

looks like July is the winner.

Psych0naut - if it was held in July, do you have any thoughts on which week would be best?

Amsterdam is gash in the summer.

Amsterdam in April. The tulips, the colour, the lack of smells from the canals! Bliss...

Might fuck this off if it's mid-summer. Much much better places to be in Europe in July!

If it happens then does anyone fancy taking a wee trip into Belgium with me afterwards? If I'm going to Holland I'd like to take the opportunity to get to Belgium as I've always wanted to go there.

I voted April + May because I know how seedy it will get in the peak season

i was there in july last year and it was far from gash or seedy. it was great. :)

we could spend months voting on every single little aspect of this, but at some point we're gonna have to decide on something. there is no doubt not everyone will be pleased, but that's just the way it is. people need to get things booked. this is a trivial excursion for us Euros but it isn't for the american and aussies etc. :\

Unfortunately the Partyflock Agenda only goes till april 2009, so we have more clarity about which parties will be happening july '09 in a few months. The Partyflock Agenda is an overview of nearly every party held in the Netherlands, arranged by date. Very helpful for planning which parties to visit during the meet-up, but not untill it's updated for the summer months of '09. Personally though, I don't really think it matters that much which week to go, the best thing would be to just wait untill the Partyflock Agenda is updated for the summer months of '09 and make a judgement based on that.

Perhaps a bit of trivialism on our part will bring out the dedication on theirs. I've been in spring, summer and winter and it's definitely prettier, quieter and less stinky in spring! It'll also be cheaper for flights for all of us if it's not in the peak summer season? :s

Well I think we need to dedicate ourselves to some decisions here, as felix said, we can't please everyone unfortunately. I just want to know quite soon so I can get something booked and it doesn't cost me a pretty penny when I book it a month before the event :p
