Opioids 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH): Tolerance and Withdrawal timeline?

Hi everyone,

I am currently visiting the United States for 5 weeks and am considering purchasing either 420mg or 1,400mg of 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH) to use during my stay. Because of my travel plans, I will not be using it for longer than these 5 weeks.

I have no prior opioid dependencies and have never used opioids for a prolonged period. I have a few specific questions regarding tolerance and withdrawal (WD):

• Withdrawal Risk: Given that I have no prior opioid tolerance, would finishing either of these amounts (420mg or 1,400mg) within a 5-week window be enough to cause withdrawal symptoms when I stop? Is it possible to consume these amounts over 5 weeks and quit cold turkey without experiencing WDs?
• Tolerance Onset: How quickly does tolerance to 7-OH typically build up? Around how many milligrams or consecutive days of use does it usually take before a tolerance starts to form?

I appreciate any insights, personal experiences, or advice you can share.

I don't honestly know the answer, having never having done 7oh other than a few times at very low dose ( I have done kratom itself quite a bit, though no addiction). But I would ask why you want to do this? What's your purpose and intent? Planning to take it daily?
If you have never really had an opioid habit then why bother? It ain't all that. It might be nice to take a small dose a couple times on your trip ( and start at 5 mg max imho), but taking often and high doses is just a waste of your mental and physical health.
Yes, I think you might get an addiction in that much time and taking that much, at least from what others have said. Likewise, tolerance builds up fast. So why purposely do that? Enjoy your time here in other more productive ways. If you are here on vacation then get your pleasure from that.

you're planning way too hard. There is no need to buy a bunch upfront, just go to a gas station or vape shop when you want some and take it. Have you made sure it's legal in the state you're going to?

imo 7-oh is way too available in the usa. it will only create more of an issue. the 7-oh will probably turn out one day to be fent just to add to the dependance. they put it in everything else, so....

if ya have no opioid tolerance why not just get a kg of leaf kratom -powder- and start with maybe 1/2 - 1g of kratom at first > give it about and hour. ive seen it work wonders for many things for many people with no tolerance.
in 5 weeks yes you will more than likely build a dependance that could possibly lead to some protracted, debilitating and agonizing withdrawals. i wouldnt recommend it, bud. a heads up. take a look through the 7-oh threads here.... not pretty.

if ya try kratom leaf; when ya done there may be a few "off" feeling days but life will go on.

if ya try anything start low dose - again, you cannalway increase the frequency if necessary.
try to keep usage to two times a week or less and never two days in a row - possibly a key to responsible usage and avoidance of withdrawals in genera<- thanks to @Keif' Richards

Such weird and precise quantities. I'm assuming you're planning on buying a particular branded product.

It's a potent molecule. With zero tolerance 5mg im definitely feeling it, and 15mg is too much for me. With tolerance (which develops pretty quickly imo) I can take a lot more, like 25mg is equivalent to 5mg a few weeks ago sorta thing. So, even 420mg to an opioid naive person is a fair amount of doses.

If you're taking ANY opioid every day for weeks there is a risk of becoming dependent which is when your body essentially "forgets" how to manufacture it's own endogenous opioids. When you stop taking exogenous opioids, the body freaks out and goes into withdrawl - From what I hear, withdrawl from 7-OH is worse than WD from heroin.

As far as onset of tolerance, it's quick, but is also highly dependent on your dosage and frequency of use. If you're using everyday, expect significant tolerance within a week. I was able to keep my tolerance low by only using it once maybe twice a week.

I personally did use A LOT of 7-OH over the period of a month and then just stopped cold turkey with no issues, but I consider myself lucky and an outlier. I was playing with fire, and I think you are too tbh.

Out of the two options, I'd get 420mg. Say a dose is 10mg (for perfectly naive people thats probably enough). 1400mg/10mg = 140 doses. If you're only going to be here 35 days you'd have to take that dose 4x a day to get through it all, which i think is a recipe for dependence...

Agreed that OP is planning too hard, but I tend to think he's been eyeing specific products due to the very specific quantities he mentioned getting. I do think it's weird/bad harm reduction to actually encourage people to buy gas station drugs though. If I was going to use 7, I would order it from a reputable company and not just buy some random thing on the counter.

I don't always see eye to eye with @PtahTek but I mostly agree with him on this. The plant is way less risky and probably a lot more affordable.

I do find the effects of kratom however to be a bit different than either pure Mitragynine (my preferred) or 7-OH (which most people say is VERY similar to morphine).
Kratom I get both stimulating and sedating effects and I presume it's due to the presence of other alkaloids. Sometimes, especially if I take too much, I feel pretty sick. I dunno. Powdered kratom to me is less predictable.
I've taken up to 250mg of pure MIT (Not extract, which is almost always a mix of alkaloids) and that is very smooth, euphoric and relaxing no nausea/vertigo and has a very slight rolly feeling.
7-OH was euphoric the first few times I took it, but it lost it really quick and just became a strong opioid.

I still think 7-OH is probably a safer alternative to other pain meds, but if you don't NEED it, maybe wise to avoid using it with any regularity.

Agreeing with what some others here are saying, just go with the powder kratom leaf ( no extracts). First time go with 1 tsp ( approx 2.5 g). See how that feels, go up slow because too much at first can cause nausea. It's actually pretty good when you first start. Nice bit of stimulation is part of it. You can't get into major trouble with it in that much time.
But I'd still humbly suggest not doing even kratom leaf more than 2 or 3 times a week. It just isn't necessary, unless perhaps you have a pain issue.
Where are you visiting anyhow and where are you from? , if you don't mind me asking ( just friendly curiosity, I like travel myself)
