Esoteric 60s footage of child and teenaged girls talking about the effects of LSD

Years ago there were viral B&W videos of a young child seemingly talking about how LSD affected him and clips of two teenaged girls who were on it during the interview. I just thought people would be interested to know that I found the source of these clips: the second part of a documentary about LSD called The Beyond Within.

I was going through some old issues of Duprees(old mag. devoted to the Dead) today as I was cleaning(supposed to be) the attic. I came across a story by Jerilyn Brandelius that I had forgot about and thought some of you might get a kick out of. This same story is in a book too' but I forget the name.

Jerilyn Brandelius is a member of the inner Dead family. She is also the mother of 2 of Mickey Harts(drummer for the Dead) kids. Well to condence the story down, the band was playing at a west coast venue. As with all of the Dead kids (children of the band, crew,ext) they were playing backstage while the band was playing a show.
Being naturally curious kids they were going through peoples stuff. They came across a bag and found a vile of white powder in it. On the metal lid was a letter C. Thinking it was cocaine and they wanted to try it they dumped some out and snorted it. Well the C stood for crystal and they snorted some very pure crystal LSD.
When the kids were found they were totally freaking out and rolling around on the ground.
She doesn't give a lot of details of the experiance, but says after a long and frightening night they were fine. These kids were 12 and 13.
This happened in the seventys and the magazine is from 89 and she makes it a point to say that both kids grew up to be healthy ,smart, and very energetic.

If anyone would like to read her account check out the fall 89 issue of Duprees.
Mickey Hart talks about it in some book or interview and i'll try to figure out which one it is. Anyone else seen this?

I just thought you might get a kick out of this story. I wouldn't advise going out and thumbprinting your kids ,but there event turned out fine.
My kids will be a little older before I offer to give them LSD( and it won't be a line of crystal to snort).
I don't condone giving 12 year old kids drugs, but again it's a neat story.

We were alway's high on tour. None of this give me 2 drops crap, it was more like open your mouth and squirt it in.
It was complete freedom. It was easy to walk out of a show high as a saint and see some saucer eyed girl and find yourself screwing before you even knew her name. Sex was as casual as smoking a joint.
Before the DEA came on tour LSD was everywhere. People just walking around dosing each other. Standing around with jug's of electric lemanade. Some even put it in squirt guns and walked around and squirted people. Then in shoreline in 90 a bunch of little kids were dosed by an idiot. They turned out fine ,but afterward's the dosing was a little more conservative.
It was a different world and a better one.

I remember a while back watching a documentary on LSD and one of the guys being interviewed in the documentary reported someone doing the exact same to their 5 year old son during the 60s and their son was just rolling about having a psychotic trip.

So my opinion still stands as this being a messed up thing to do, but that was a different time so people were less aware of the dangers of doing such a thing.

the youngest person i have ever (unfortunately) smoked dope with was 3.

i had packed up a bowl, it made it thru the four adults, then the child was given the bowl, the parents had to light it for him since he couldnt operate a lighter.

made me sick inside to watch it happen, but it wasnt a situation in which i could say anything...and im not a small or meek person.

left immediately after the bowl was cashed w/ my zone of white and never went back or talked to them again.

did hear they quit letting the kid get high, but fuck them and everything about them.

also done blow with 12 year olds, brothers of friends, along with other opiates and pot. i never liked it, but their parents knew, and who the fuck am i right?

for 10 years now i refuse to do drugs with people who arent my age or mentality at least.

But I do know of many people starting psychedelic use as young as 13 or 14 to end up having no issues. Still very risky though.
