Now, show me that you love me as much as I love you and keep checking this thread ;).

Ooooohhhh......... I am interested in hearing what folks have to say about this one!
I have not been to Georgia, so, I have no input really-
It is one of the few southern states I would like to visit.......
Savannah's hauntedness intrigues me.

georgia is a very beautiful state. southern style architecture....Atlanta is one of the most beautiful and clean cities I have been to. I really like the south.

^ I agree. Plus, southern boys are yummy ;)

I have been ephemerally to both Atlanta and Savannah, twice, en route to South Carolina, and they get my seal of approval. Hopefully, next time, I'd get to actually meet a certain Atlantian.

My biggest gripe with GA, though, is that it is guaranteed to drive nuts anyone trying to do research on the actual Georgia (the land of the Golden Fleece, or "Colchis" to the Ancient Greeks).

"Georgia - Atlanta = Alabama" is definitely something most people should take away from any discussion of georgia-- culturally, anyway.

There are pretty green mountains in the north, and a very charming Okefenokee swamp in the south.

The soil as the profoundly red, rather wet georgia red clay (hence, no basements)

The geography of the rest of the state is divided between the Piedmont-- rolling hills, and a coastal plane that was once underneath an ancient ocean.

Atlanta is pretty much the Jam, though. A local music scene that is on the uptick. Brutal traffic though-- only LA is worse overall.

Fun facts: no natural lakes-- just a couple dozen man-made ones. Atlanta is getting less federal stimulus money than middle-of-nowhere towns that want new highway overpasses.

I'll think of more later.

They are the best fast food (I don't eat fast foos anymore but I would totally go to a Chick-Fil-A!!! Polynesian sauce-yum.

Pander- those pictures are amazing- did you take them???
Interesting facts too!

reading from wiki

"We Didn't Invent the Chicken, Just the Chicken Sandwich," is based on a true story: at a time when hamburgers dominated fast-food menus since the beginning, Cathy was credited with creating and inventing the chicken sandwich

Chick-fil-A was the first restaurant to serve a chicken sandwich

i didnt know that they were credited as the inventor of the chicken sandwich

nice post Pander Bear :)

Georgia is nice
especially when you're missing it.

The mosquitoes are polite- please and thankyou, yes sir and yes ma'am

The humidity is bad, but the food is good and so are the people.

We've got lots of fireflies
and moonlight through the pines.

im not sure about the food

most people dont have a basement due to the soil
some do, or so ive heard...

and palm tree dont grow high

No one has basements down here.

The Okefenokee swamp is one of my favorite things about Georgia. It's beautiful.
They also got lower taxes on alcohol and cigarettes, which isn't bad.

Boiled peanuts are great, especially with beer. I can't believe you didn't try any ninja.
