silly serendipitous trivia- the enzyme doing the bromination in the seaweed is most likely a Vanadium-bromoperoxidase. just thought that was funny, who the hell comes up with a SN vanadium anyway?
I would think this compound should be easy to make, bromo trypto/indo-something has got to be commercially available.
