Well, if that thread is anything to go off of, I'd recommend steering clear of it. AET has apparently produced lasting serotonergic damage in test animals, and I'm sure the 4-methylated variety would just accelerate that damage (in general, methylating tryptamines and phenethylamines allows them to more easily cross the blood-brain barrier and increases their resistance to MAO degradation).

Also, may I remind you that this is the Ecstasy Discussion forum. :) There are other forums for this sort of discussion, namely Basic Drug Discussion, Other Drug Discussion, and Advanced Drug Discussion.

AET is an entactogen, though, so 4-Me-AET could possibly be covered in a forum about ecstasy-type drugs. I almost moved the topic myself until I noted that. AET is also well known for wreaking havoc on your immune system -- not sure if 4-Me-AET would share this trend at all.

I would avoid it... 4-sub tryptamines tend to be extremely toxic other than MOST of the 4-HO tryptamines (4-HO-AMT was found to be extremely toxic and I imagine 4-HO-AET would be as well).

AET itself can cause agranulocytosis - wiki -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agranulocytosis

Its basically chemically-induced AIDS but is much more complicated than that.

Do you know of hand how this compares quantitatively to that which one can induce via MDMA?

4-methylated variety would just accelerate that damage (in general, methylating tryptamines and phenethylamines allows them to more easily cross the blood-brain barrier and increases their resistance to MAO degradation).

Wouldn't 4-methylation have vastly different effects between phenethylamines and tryptamines beyond these?

I think that this needs be appended to 4-sub, alpha-sub tryptamines. Psilocin and closely related chemicals appear comparatively benign.
