An anti-histamine is something most commonly used to treat allergies. You can buy them over the counter; I used to use hay fever tablets to stop itching from codeine. I only tried lortadine and cetirizine but found that cetirizine was much more effective.
I would stay away from other anti-histamines such as diphenhydramine, which is used in Nytol, as these can potentiate the effects of opiates which will probably just make things more complicated for you. Besides, it will cost a lot more. You can get a month's supply of cetirizine for a couple of quid. Just make sure you ask for generics or they will maybe try to sell you a branded medicine, which can cost significantly more.
For example: In Boots it's £6.95 for 30 and at the other chemists around here it's only £2.50.
