Why are people so obsessed with the fact that MDMA is an Amphetamine when it really isn't? Also if they think X is an Amphetamine why don't they just stick to that GARBAGE then-SPEED?
real plur bro

do i have to explain it AGAIN?
MDMA is a SUBSTITUTED AMPHETAMINE.
it is a methamphetamine molecule with a methylenedioxy ring substitution
CHEMICALLY IT IS AN AMPHETAMINE AND A PHENETHYLAMINE>
guess what?
they DO put LOTS of speed in pills, bud.
there is a goddamn difference between BEING AN AMPHETAMINE and BEING SPEED.
SPEED IS AMPHETAMINE OR METHAMPHETAMINE
period.
DOM is a psychedelic amphetamine, look up DOM. nobody would be dumb enough to call DOM speed.
goddamn.
What are you a chemist or something...I would't answer that If I were you though, and secondly why are you so cranky drnnit.
Cuz you didn't use the search engine
Let me explain something though...I have used the search engine, and the conclusion that I come up with because the chain is altered is that X stands alone.
LSDMDMA&8875521 said:ecstasy certainly DOESNT stand alone
not close
MDA, MDEA, MBDB (not an amphetamine, close though), bk-MDMA, methylenedioxyphenethylamine (inactive but shulgin tested it).
there are LOTS of chems with a methylenedioxy bridge on em.

wiki MDMA
MDMA (3,4-Methylenedioxymethamphetamine, commonly known as ecstasy, often abbreviated "E" or "X") is an entactogenic drug of the phenethylamine and amphetamine families.
read a little before you try to call me out.
LM&A has this covered but, think of it this way:
Ethanol and Methanol are both alcohols, and yet are gonna react with your body in drastically different ways. All due to a little change up in the base molecule (specifically, an extra CH2 group).
Speed (meth/amphetamines) and MDMA both have the same amphetamine group, but will cause different reactions to your body due to the chemical differences in the molecules.
As far as chemical names go, it's the last part of the name that typically tells you what class your molecule/compound is. All the numbers and extra names preceeding that class name are just telling you what else is there, and where it is.
So... Even though they both do different things, since they are both based on that amphetamine base, they both are in that class.
