what is a good "safe" amount to try for my first experience? answer from yalls personal experiences. I have no idea what to expect

Please do not take this personal or get offended, but why people are always so inclined to regard themselves as the 'gold standard' is truly beyond me. A good colleague of me is also prone to this kind of reasoning. If first-timers ask him for advice, he will always mention his own experiences and come up with a ridiculous high dosage (like 18-20 mg 2C-I or 16 mg 2C-E for an unexperienced user). Why is it so hard to disregard your own experience when asked for advice, and just stick to the general consensus on appropriate dosage? When giving advice, the order in which you mention dosages should be the general accepted safe dosage before your own experiences on a possibly much higher dose. Especially in light of the harm reduction mission of this forum as a whole, the above kind of advice is severly counter-productive. I have no idea about the purity of your 2C-P and your personal sensitivity for this compound, but I would never advice anyone to take 15 mg of my own batch of 2C-P.well if you can get a solid trip off 10-14 mgs that's pretty sweet, based on my experience I don't think 15 mgs is unreasonable to a seasoned tripper, don't really see a reason to start any lower due to the duration and lack of intriguing effects at lower doses. I've talked to a few people who have taken 25 mgs and still been unimpressed and not reported any serious negative physical effects. Certainly take into consideration individual response but I think the isolated 'overdose' incident at 16 mgs in pikhal has caused some unwarranted fear about dosage with this chem.

As for a response to the OP: 6-8 mg is a good starting point, where I would personally advice you to use a liquid dosing approach, or cutting your 2C-P in a 1:4 ratio before weighing. (Unless, of course, you are one of those lucky few with access to a 0.1 mg resolution analytical scale)
Blahblahblah. I read (past tense) your whole post the first time. No matter what you say, the general tone still remains 'My experience doesn't match the recommended dosage, so screw that shit and just take twice as much'. You take absolutely no responsibility for the possible outcome if someone that would have had a nice trip on 7 mg went ahead and took 15 mg based on your advice. Ever stopped to think how that might fuck someone up? And don't start off that it is still their own responsibility to make a choice based on your advice; you are the one that should take your head out of your ass before giving potentially dangerous advice.Nah fuck your shit, I even mentioned other people's experiences as well which I based my recommended dosages on, and even said if the op is inexperienced with psychedelics they should follow the 'standard' dose range.
So yah i'm getting offended because you didn't even read my posts to realize I don't base my reccommended dosage solely on personal experience. I'm not trying to be all difficult and reccommend high doses just for the sake of it, I also don't feel I have to be all sheepish either and go along with the reccommended erowid or pikhal doses. The op is free to take into account all the information provided and decide for themselves, kind of the point of making a thread.
^ Look dude just because erowid lists a common dosage of shrooms at 1-2.5 grams doesn't necessarily make it the only safe doses to start at. Thousands of people take a full eighth (3.5 grams) and live to tell the tale and in fact enjoy it. Plenty of people take 2 ecstasy pills (~160-200 mgs) their first time which lands them in the strong-heavy spectrum on erowid and have the time of their lives. I do not think 2cp should be used recreationally initially, but I am confident that my reccommended dosage is not a significant risk. Much like ecstasy The lingering negative physical effects I've felt on 2cp, I have felt on all dose levels, so I feel dosing higher makes it feel a little more worth it. I got my 2cp from a reputable vendor and I had prior experience with 2cb, 2ci, 2ce, 2ct2, and 2ct7. I tend to be fairly sensitive to 2cx compounds besides the two 2ctx's and I took the 2cp everytime without tolerance.
@allium: I will supply some links/exercpts tomorrow when I get a chance.
