23 hours in!!

Yes.... hang on my friend. You're right-you will sleep again. You're positive attitude will help immensely Im rooting for you.

I just tried the Kratom! I'm sure it's somewhat of a low grade though, but it seems to be working! Yes, I am disappointed in myself that for 4-5 days I had to take a few painkillers, but in a way it was a sign also that I hate these things and I am done!!!! I'm at 27 hours now! Feeling pretty good! I worked a full day which some people say is crazy! I am hoping the kratom and a little granddaddy purple will help me sleep! For me the only two things I hate are the RLS and the insomnia! I haven't had any RLS thanks to the gabapentin, I've only dosed 600mg in 27 hours! I cant thank you guys enough! Especially you Toothpastedog and 10yearsgone! You both have been huge helps! I owe yall one! ;)

Let me ask you both something! About the kratom, do you think I should just use it 7-10 days just to help take the edge off the acute withdrawals?

If your gonna use it I'd use it for 4-5 days.... Your gonna have to face some discomfort at some point. Considering you have gabapentin, if your gonna use it just use a few grams to help you sleep is what I'd do... You really don't need much honestly.. Be careful about swapping one drug out for another because despite what some people read it definitely is addictive. Honestly man the initial detox does suck but IME it's after those first 5-10 days are over is when the really hard part comes in... The monotonous bore of sober life will kill you Unless you have a damn good plan/some support groups/mass hobbies/a harem of women/etc etc (preferably all of the above) to take up all that time and space drugs took up.

I want a harem 8)

You can use kratom for a week to treat your withdrawal symptoms, if you only use it for seven days you won't create another dependency and can just stop taking it. Of course, be careful using the kratom simply because it is relatively easy to become habituated to it (it does tend to make one feel good, after all). As long as you are aware of what you're getting into, you should be fine.

In my case, I would only allot myself so much for a given week to two weeks to manage the acute withdrawal (if detoxing using kratom was my goal), and only keep that much around. I know myself well enough to know that if I have any spare opioids laying around I'm going to end up using them sooner or later, particularly if I'm bored. So if you get a lot or have easy access just be careful and aware that too much of a good thing isn't going to turn out all that great.

Trust me, I hear you both! This kratom is not that great so I'm not worried about trading an addiction for an addiction! But of course I know it happens! I'm about 32 hours in so far all I have had is 3.5 grams of kratom, 600mg of gabapentin, and some vitamins! I'm about to take some more gabapentin to see if it will help me sleep tonight! This sneezing is ridiculous though! Lol

LOL, and the yawning and the watery eyes (and RLS and pissing out your ass and all that jazz). Have fun ;)

P.s. I'd take significantly more gabapentin if I were you (like the equivalent of 800mg 2x/day, for seven days). Keep up the good work, you're doing awesome!

The yawning actually hasn't been too bad and I think the gabapentin has kept the rls at bay! Don't get me wrong, when I'm driving, my legs ache but other than that so far so good! What's crazy is I'm 37 years old and I didn't even start taking these things until I was 34! I feel like I'm done now though which is a good feeling! I have a wonderful wife, great parents, my father actually celebrates 26 years sober this May! It can be done!!

12 days??? Wow, I don't know how you did it!! That's simply amazing! I don't expect mine to be that bad but if it it is then I'll just deal with it! I know this won't last forever! I just keep telling myself time is on my side!

Good morning BL! Hope everyone is doing well! I'm at the 43 hour mark and headed to work on about 1 hour of sleep, but other than that I don't feel too bad at all! Haven't took a thing as far as the gabapentin, loperamide, or kratom since the 30 hours mark when I took 400mg of gabapentin! I'm not a fan of that stuff! I guess it did help the rls a little because that has been manageable! Only symptoms I have so far is the insomnia and a little anxiety, but that's about it right now! I may take tomorrow off and try to work from home since everyone says that 72 hour mark is a bitch! Although some people say the 18-24 hour mark was the hardest for them! Guys thanks so much for being here! It really helps!

Good morning sunshine =D

Most people I've heard from say that it get most difficult around the 48-72hr mark. If you're having trouble sleeping up your dose of gabapentin a bit, perhaps get some melatonin.

You're doing fucking awesome Sooner! Keep up the great work :)

Good morning! You are absolutely killing it, man. I agree with TPD, I've always found that things start getting better around 72 hours in.

Glad to hear the symptoms haven't been too horrible. But do keep an eye on the psychological/emotional part of things. You mentioned the anxiety, so it's good that you've got your eye on that. But anything you can do to keep your headspace clear is a good idea...in particular, if you can take tomorrow off from going to work, that might be good, just in the interest of self care. (Though I could also imagine that some people would benefit from distractions at the point you're at.) Just take extra good care of yourself!

Sooner, you're doing great man!

For me, I was absolutely useless for the first 10 days.. Day 3-7 were my worst. I think you're brave as hell to be going to work. For the first ten days I had extreme panick attacks often. Out off nowhere. Your a tougher dude then me.

Keep at it man!

To be honest, I know Norcos are bad, but I don't think they are near as bad as other opiates when it comes to withdrawing! I know some people won't agree, but I don't feel like I was addicted, I was dependent because of all my injuries! The physical part is nothing, it's all mental in my opinion! You have to look yourself in the mirror and realize that you run your life, not some pill! I think it helps because I have seen my Pops get clean and stay clean for 26 years! Not a buzz of any kind for 26 years, he's my hero and he gives great advice! His tapes from his speaker meetings are all over the country in AA! So far today I have only had 6 grams of the Kratom! I can honestly say it helps buy I will stop taking that crap at the 120 hour mark! I want all three of you to know Sixxam, TPG, and Simco yall have no idea what big helps you have been! You guys ever come to Houston my wife and I will take you for some straight gangsta ass Texas BBQ!

Congrats soonerfan! my father has always been my hero he passed away at 88 years old 3 years ago new years day i miss him everyday he was a WWII vet he loved his country and his family. norcos are not as strong as oxy but it all matters how high your tolerance was. I was on oxy everyday for over 20 years in pain man im on day 63 now since jumping, i had kratom too i used it some during the end of my ween i noticed i could match a 15mgs dose of oxy with 6mgs bali kratom. But when i jumped i had a sub strip all cut up down to 1 and .5 mgs pieces also had kratom but never touched either lyrica and clonidine was all i needed. I hated the toss and wash method with kratom and putting it in pills was a pita. You may find out the gabapentin is going to be your freind now especially you will be going into the insomnia phase i find lyrica really helps with sleep and finally after 63 days im starting to get better sleep with no help. Hang in there brotha! do it for your dad ....do it for yourself!

did u say barbecue!!:)

Well, I just passed the 120 hour mark! Feeling pretty damn good to be honest! After the 2nd day I didn't touch the gabapentin! I had to take about 10mg of loperamide on days 3 and 4 along with about 12g of Kratom! I have only had 4g of Kratom today, that's it! Sleep is still a little hard but I have slept so that's good! I must say, the Kratom was an absolute life saver, I was very happy with the results! I may use the Kratom through the end of the day tomorrow but then I'm done! Thank you all for the support! You guys have been awesome!
