2017 Trump Presidency Thread

let's dispense with this idea that he's the washington outsider he claimed to be. just look at his transition team immediately after inauguration and his cabinet - it's a who's who of corporate interest.

he is a lot of things and he's definitely a politician.

If you're gonna put a cabinet together, do you hire guys with Wall street experience, or guys who work at Burger King??

And what exactly is wrong writing expenses off from taxes??

Besides the real estate laws here?

Mark Cuban, legit billionaire and fervent anti-Trump spokesonepecenter, who goes on TV so you might've heard him, pointed out, "it's real estate, you can just pick a number."

If I were you, I'd follow some real billionaires, who had silver spoons, but still put in some effort. Then buy an NBA team.

We get it, SJ. You dont like the man 8)

I've watched quite a bit of Celeb apprentice shows, and I've watched many of his interviews,. I think he's a decent person who wants the best for America, and I think the US is gonna be just fine. Stop being so negative!

he's robbing you blind. he's not a decent man. are you honestly fooled by his celebrity tv persona - or are you being facetious?
i find it very difficult to tell nowadays.

it's got nothing to do with whether i "like" him or not. that's irrelevant to politics.

he's a malignant presence in politics. i'm positive about that.
the positive thing is that every day is one day closer to them sending him back to his gold-plated nursing home penthouse brothel or wherever he waddled out of.

he's robbing you blind
I can't believe I'm responding to this since I'm not American, but how exactly is he robbing me blind??

he's not a decent man
How so??

Uhm, it has EVERYTHING to do with politics since you're part of the American voting block

EDIT: I just noticed you're Australian, so scratch that

Sorry, but I havent seen that in him. Trump wants the best for his country, there's no crime in that

that's a false dilemma.

if you're going to campaign on being a washington outsider and promise america you're going to 'drain the swamp', do you then fill your cabinet with a who's who of corporate interests and basically carry on with business as usual?

But on Wednesday evening, the administration disclosed that it has granted ethics waivers to four former lobbyists now in the White House, allowing them to work on high-level policy issues of interest to their former clients. They are among 17 specific appointees who have been issued exemptions from conflict of interest rules in the first four months of the administration.

That’s the same number of ethics waivers that the Obama White House handed out — over eight years.

And there’s more to come: Before the week’s end, we should learn details about ethics waivers that have been given to former lobbyists and other appointees working across the federal government. The information — which the Office of Government Ethics requested from all federal agencies — will provide a window into how far the Trump administration is willing to bend on its promise to end business as usual in Washington.
(my emphasis. source)

The Wall Street White House: Trump hires fifth Goldman Sachs staffer to the administration

this is the same goldman sachs which was, last year, fined $5 billion for it's role in the 2008 financial crisis.

i get it. you like trump and you think he's different. but you honestly think he's 'draining the swamp'?

:\

And how exactly is that against the law??

I didn't mean he broke any law, but that the laws are bad. My current employer for one month out of the year takes care of any illegal stuff. They've seen his taxes, and they're pretty good at arresting people, and if anybody could perp walk a president, it's the IRS. Eventually, after years of amended returns. So I'm saying it's above-board, just really slimy.

===

And even if SJ was American, ideally it's not, you know, a popularity contest, as they say all the time here in the land of not-perpetual-winter. I'm going to bet every president ever, except maybe LBJ and Rutherford B. Hayes, were total assholes in person. Because really, you have to be an arrogant bastard to run for pres, even more so after winning it. Ambitious people usually aren't fun people.

Then you get some fuckwit who doesn't realize he's a joke, and a population who'll burn everything to the ground if it pisses off a "liberal coastal elite-person", and you get the current one. He's arrogant from a deep-down daddy-didn't-love-me insecurity, and stopped learning anything new back in the eighties. He's just an awful person generally.

And no, it's not politics. I despised the W. administration, but the man is probably at least a decent human being.

What are everyone's thoughts on the prospect of the end of DACA?

The basic premise of letting kids whom had no real choice in breaking the law be allowed to naturalize is sensible to me.

But instead of that you have 17 year old Salvadorian MS13 gang members illegally immigrating on their own, and under bama' they got to remain gangbanging and gangraping because the same law applied to them as it did a 6 month old baby...

The basic premise was logical, but liberals decided to ruin and soil it with many questionable inclusions, along with the very nonsensible DAPA.

Personally I would have a very narrow spectrum and some givens, like they have been living here for years, were under 16 at the time of illegal entry, are being educated, taught english, actually love and want to be part of this nation, etc.

I remember that, we liberals got together with 'bama, and over our arugla salads we specifically wrote in a line saying minors from major street gangs can stay forever and get automatic all-the-welfare, but only from white conservative taxpayers.

That's the problem about Trump, because he's not a decent human being. Not only people all around the globe despise him but worst, laugh at him. Such a childish behavior, doesn't behave like an adult and doesn't know what's going on. He's a bad joke. And because of his temperament, he's so predictable. And very arrogant, obviously.

The current policy is just to throw everyone out. Screening takes effort. It's so much easier just to Arpaio them.

I'm sure we're all going to feel safer with MS13 gone. And everyone else with dreams who wasn't born here and are potential criminals.

Unbelievable. MS13?

I don't know, Ms. Duggles, maybe he has a point. That arugula was awful peppery, even with such a mild dressing, I might not have have been thinking quite right. I mean, I get jumped by like fifteen MS13 minors every day!

Yeah but that's a slow day for you - I saw your local "antifa" and I was waiting for to name some major gangs that are Asian, white, black, subdivisions liked Haitians, Crips, Bloods, Jamaicans, MEXICANS, and SE Asians, etc.

I watch Gangland, and I know what's up!
