2017 Trump Presidency Thread

That's not what the passage is saying at all but let's not get into it here; post it in my Catholic apologetics thread if you must (although I am disgracefully tardy in my replies there mostly because a lot of them get into a lot of detail and I have to be in the right intellectual/spriritual place to write them.)

But let's not make this another stupid thread debating about religion. No post referring to "sky-daddies" is possible to take seriously, and I would hope also for reasonable secular or even atheistic people. And no religious person is likely to convert somebody by posting on a message board, especially in an argumentative fashion. And above all, this forum is not the proper venue for it; we have a P&S thread. Discussing Trump's relationship to religion, the Religious Right, whatever, in a political sense, is one thing, but let's not go with the anti-religious, or specifically anti-Christian or anti-Muslim material here. Nor, of course, the inverse.
 
I wrote in a post last night, and it got deleted along with a page of others, in reference to your^ asking what God was, that I have related God with the maximum speed that I can take a corner in a car... or whatever I desire, whatever is the best way to that. Like someone smart once said (I think it was Tesla), that one man calls it God, and another calls it physics. Do you think it's an accident that religion is obsessed with law, and it came about with common roots to science?

As for the verse about Jesus and the woman, I have heard an apologists response to it. I don't fully buy it, as all there is to it... but I will give you a shot perhaps. I think what we with our world full of pictures that we've been exposed to, and all of the "social justice" and identity politics, are the ones who are irregular in the human condition. I don't think it's a stretch that Jesus held his people much higher-- 1st. This isn't to say he recognized an absolute hierarchy of people (or that he was a "Jewish Supremacist"?), or that he felt it was always to be this way, or that they weren't too God's children, or whatever, but his function- his directive, and his loyalty, was to his people first. He had a mission.

22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.

23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.

Again, I understand they say he was testing her. I also believe this to be true- even if he himself, the Son, wasn't aware of the father's direction. I have seen similar things in my life, so I won't invest any doubt there. What I am saying is that he was also a "racist", and that that state of being is natural, and up until around 1960- everyone felt it very natural to have such in-group preference/loyalty. The word is really unhelpful. It's just something people use to try to beat people into a shape they can accept. Jesus didn't hate her. I don't hate people. I just know where I'd rather invest my energy first.

Again, sorry, SKL- for continuing. I'll ask in your thread. I have another idea as to what the Lost sheep of the house of Israel might mean (not necessarily the people he was born into, but a spiritual people, and he was testing her, and as I read more into it, it is said that he was teaching his apostles, as Jews were regularly 'racist' toward gentiles-- in this context to teach it makes sense, but it still shows he recognizes identity, and I still say he had his priority, for functionality), but I am not very learned in this.

All the crooked stuff he's done. His extensive business conflicts of interest.
His complete dishonesty about even the pettiest things.
Which is unprecedented.

Hillary by far was the most corrupt candidate.

-public and private positions
-pay for play
-numerous associates dying in strange circumstances
-having primary rigged for her
-deleting 30k emails after getting subpoena from congress
-Fraudulent reconstruction in Haiti after the earthquake

That's just the tip of the iceberg.
 
I agree, and the reason is that Hildo held a position of public trust and was expected to live up to better standards. Orange 45 has until now always been a private citizen.

I think that's going to be very debateable when the full extent of trump's russian mafia links are exposed.
But regardless - clinton isn't the president. Trump is. And that's what we're talking about.

So maybe rather than trying to change the subject, you could try sincerely defending your beloved president, ryan?
 
I for one would prefer Russian mafia links to Clinton links and if I could vote for Putin for President over all these fuckers, I would. JMO.

The russia connection is a fabrication. It would have been out a long time ago otherwise. The CIA has spent 70 years perfecting the art of propaganda and overthrowing governments. And they are applying those skills in our own country right now.

They arguably have been the past 70 or so years in our country. But now we're really getting into conspiracy theories. Here's when the true drugedness of this forum emerges %)
