you sound like a perfect candidate for socialised healthcare :)

sadly, corporate interest, trump's friends and many others have way too much to lose from sorting this out so it's just going to continue to suck for a while. god forbid a government should, you know, take care of its people...

:p He embarrasses me globally on a personal level. Like even if he was in the family id always walk a few steps ahead of him.

Man I really don’t like feeling embarrassed of my obviously American accent here in Australia. It was frustrating under Bush. Then things started getting a little better again, now it sucks again.

If I meet someone new, it’s pretty inevitable that I’ll get asked what I think of trump. I think it’s a test. To see if they’re free to start ranting. If they were talking to another Australian they wouldn’t bother but I think they wanna check they’re not talking to a crazy trump supporter first. It’s interesting. If you’re American, Australians don’t seem to assume “you” are crazy, but they still seem to have this broader notion that all the OTHER Americans must be crazy. It often seems like Australians sort of imagine Americans as a whole the way left leaning Americans imagine everyone who lives in the south.

I’ll never forget the time I met this guy, was obviously not from an English speaking country. He asked if I was American and I said yes and he said with a hint of genuine fear in his voice “that crazy Trump man is going to kill us all”. Which I found hilarious.

At least I could pose as Canadian if I really wanted to I guess. Doesn’t seem like Australians can tell us apart.

Man I love the way Canadians talk :).

Like I said though in my experience Australians have trouble hearing the difference. I get that, took me years before I could tell Australian and New Zealand accents apart.

I always wondered how the Canadian accent is the same in Vancouver and Toronto. No one expects LA and NY to sound the same, but the equivalent in Canada pretty much is. Weird.

Or why they're both basically Minnesota.

I liked mine the way it was. Of course, in 2011 when I went from insurance through an employer to trying to buy my own....and was denied because of a "pre existing condition" which I assume was my suboxone,
though I do not know for sure, I wasn't happy. But I found alternatives through the state and county. Ultimately, I could have tried to get another job but choose extreme dysfunction, obama care happened, and when I was buying insurance again it makes me broke.

I'd rather have the old way before ACA. Had I kept sober and took a job....Id still be complaining about high healthcare costs from ACA.

You know, your socialist county/state insurance (and later Obamacare) would be a lot cheaper, healthcare in general cheaper, if the Republicans stopped fucking with it the way they do, trying to deliberately sabotage it. You'll be shocked what it'll cost you after the Trump OE goes in to effect, what with your pre-existing condition. Do you think this kind of uncertainty has insurance companies lining up to enroll, or doctors willing to open new practices when they themselves don't know what'll happen next year?

Yes, I'm biased, because in 2011 I had no coverage. 2010-2015, basically. It looks like I might not have any in 2018. In my drunken depths 2010-2012 I was a ER frequent flyer and cost the taxpayers at least a hundred grand. If the ACA falls to the GOP I'll make sure to move to a red state, maybe yours, and suck every taxpayer penny I can.

if the u.s.a. had socialised medicine like every other developed country in the world, the concept of a 'pre-existing condition' would have no meaning. you'd go to the doctor and get the help you need. you'd visit a hospital and receive all the treatment you need. no out of pocket, no deductibles, no bureaucrat rejecting your claim for treatment.

it's totally crazy, right? only in america.

Thank you, I know how to shop for my needs. My states one obummer plan did not cover my stimulant. And it was unaffordable as I qualified for no subsidies as was and still am working full time.

^^^^^^

There are all manor of people sickened by the Democratic Party and their history of dividing the country and killing people. Not all are pigs, some pretty liberal too.

No most people are sickened by Trump which is why he has a 30 percent approval rating. I expect the Republicans will ram through some idiotic tax cuts for the rich in the next month. The economic slowdown is coming at the start of the year which will end up costing Republicans the house of Representatives in the fall. After that impeachment proceedings against Trump will begin. They will drag out for the rest of his 1 term presidency. Hopefully the American people will have learned a lesson and we have 2 qualified candidates next election.

As unlikely as I find most of what you just said, the idea that we might have not one but TWO qualified candidates next election really takes the cake.

As much faith I have in the Mueller investigation, Trump will look sane now compared to when he's being impeached.

There are a number of negative things that can be said about President Bill Clinton, but he kept it together during his impeachment.

Trump will lose his mind because he simply cannot accept that he is wrong.

I hope he resigns or the 25th is invoked and he's kicked out as quickly and unceremoniously as some that he fired were.
