2012 Olympic flaming

Mods, feel free to close this down as soon as.

Thanks to all who engaged in the rich debate about the Olympics but the thread seems to have veered so off course that a local guide with a GPS phone couldn't put it right again.

Back on topic, olympics, how crap are they?
 
fuck the olympics, fuck the jubilee.

At a time when families are being asked to forgo luxuries for austerity reasons, Women's Aid has had funding pulled, Sure Start are folding, social housing is less available than ever before, education cuts, healthcare cuts

But we can spend a million quid on a gold barge for the queen, and all this piffle about wealth creation from the Olympics etc, uber-sport facilities for us "all" to enjoy after the games, fucking nonsense.

i want my taxes to go to people who need help.
 
In yet another police 'operation', a series of co-ordinated raids shut down Soho's colourful street dealing scene. The reason? To clean up the streets and keep London safe for tourists coming here for, yes, you've guessed. By all accounts, everything was up and running again within 24 hours, as is always the way of such things. If anyone on here uses this market to score, let us know what it's like and how much of a danger it poses for visitors to our sporting events.
 
I'd be gutted if I went to a large foreign city and the police had decided to "clean up the streets" and "keep [the city] safe" for me.

Waste of a visit.
 
only good thing about the jubalee thing is days off work, im all for that. apart from that it seems like a load of shit

At least we aren't running around electrocuting glue sniffers in barrels Rio style. Always look on the bright side charlie :|
 
The favellas of Rio had lower crime rates, when the drug gangs were in charge, than most other areas of Rio including famous places like Copacobana and Ipanema. I need to find out what they are like now, used to get good parties in them.
 
Hi All. First post from a seasoned lurker and this thread prompted me to join.

Earlier in the thread someone mentioned Nazi symbolism. Well, I think it is a little deeper than that.

The Olympic Torch is symbolic of the flame of Prometheus. In Greek mythology, Prometheus was the titan who stole the flame of knowledge from the gods and gave it to mankind. Well, some of them....

Check out the road names around the Olympic site. They are of a biblical nature.

Rik Clay did some brilliant work regarding the obvious occult symbolism before he committed suicide

I could bring up the weird pretend alien during the 84 LA Olympics but I don't want to get flamed too much, yet.

Now, there's an idea for a new Olympic event. Even at top dollar, tickets would sell like wildfire...' the gluesniffer from the Ivory Coast is sizzling nicely but the Saudi is really on fire..'
 
The end of the Kali yuga will take place on the 21st December 2012. Forget this bollocks about the end of the world. It is the end of a cycle in time. If anyone is familiar with the esoteric, we are moving out of a period of intense darkness and control into a new age, the age of Aquarius.
I won't go into Terrence McKenna's timewave zero theory as I am not au fait with it, but I believe it has something to do with thoughts manifesting into reality at a much quicker rate. Be mindful of your thoughts, certainly in a "desire state" ( check out sex magick for further info)
The true purpose of the olympics, in recent times, seems to be to provide a platform enabling the powers that be to speak to the collective unconcious therefore influencing our thoughts and possibly reality itself.
Don't buy it folks...... it is not in your interests.
Oh, and one other thing regarding symbolism, check out the lighting structures at the stadium. Capped pyramids........

Ah, that explains why I was greeted first thing by the erm.. captivating visual spectacle of a stunning black girl in a flimsy white skirt with a perfect arse running down the road, determined not to be late for something. That was pretty good.

That actually did happen, but I'm not poking fun at you there, or 'the esoteric', certain aspects of which I share your interest in. I know a little about 'desire states', sex magick, etc. I just keep it (mostly) on the quiet. ;)

As for the 2012 thing, it's interesting that the year holds special significance across several ancient and diverse cultures, none of which actually believe it to be the end of the world. As for the shift in consciousness, we'll see in December, eh?

By which time this Olympic farce will be long-gone.

Erm, they aren't, I'm afraid, unless I've got the wrong stadium. I've just had a bit of a peek on Google Maps and I can find a load named after fish (eg Dace Rd, Bream Street) and a lot which must be named after industries which once flourished there (Pudding Mill Lane, Carpenters Rd). I can't see anything overtly biblical apart from St Mark's Gate, which is about 600 metres away.
