2012 - 2013 Football Thread

my arse, lol, who apart from Roman wanted Pep?
A guy who won with a squad that Frank/Louis gave him, ( Minus the lazy dutchman)

I can think of someone who was keen hahaha

After that I wont take anyone except Jose, Pep, Klopp

Pep is on his way, its the worst kept secret in football

Rafa can fuck off, we are all waiting for Pep anyways, its the worst kept secret in football

Its not out of the realm of possibility that Pep actually advised Roman a year ago as to what type of players he wanted roman to sign in the possibility that he would take over in Summer 2013

If Pep isnt in charge of Chelsea next year I will eat my hat. Worst kept secret in football, hence Rafa getting a 6 month contract

Peps coming, thats the bottom line.

The only reason Rafa got a 6 month contract is that its nailed on that Pep has already agreed to take over in Summer

When Falcao arrives in Jan and Pep in the summer we will be unstoppable.

What I expected to happen and what I wanted to happen are 2 different things though mate. You cant find a single quote where i said I wanted Pep to take over, because I didnt
Klopp? Would love him, but only a few months ago he said he would never leave Dortmund to come to England, so you can put him off any list to come to England for at least 3 seasons. Great coach though.

For Eeons I have wanted ( if we cant get Jose) only 2 people to take over

Joachim Low or Luciano Spaletti.
There is one more Chelsea site I frequent( nameless for my own protection) where the only 2 others I mentioned were Laudrup( after Ancelotti left) and just after he was fired by Spartak and Prandelli before he took the Italy job.

If you read Ancelotti's autobiography he said that he met Prandelli in the same hotel , on the same weekend that he met Roman , thus leading him to think that Roman inteviewed him as well.

This is what Ancelotti wrote in his book ...

"So here we are, back in Paris. The George V, great hotel two steps from the Champs Elysees, a spectacular terrace with a view over Paris, and in this case over his London too.

'Me and Abramovich, Act Two. Nobody should know anything, we're all agreed. I'm wearing sunglasses. I look around and with the typical expression of a secret agent. I make sure there are no photographers at the hotel entrance. Yesterday, a few minutes away from here, Massimo Moratti of Inter Milan met Jose Mourinho.

'I didn't want to have the same end. Road is free, nobody suspicious, I can enter. But no, f**k. I don't believe it. Just around the corner I see Federico Pastorello, an Italian agent that I know very well. I hide. I go to the far end and bump into a very dear colleague and friend. Another Italian manager who works in a city that occupies. (Roma coach Luciano Spalletti, who clearly has also met with Chelsea that day).

'I laugh. "What are you doing here?" "No, what are you doing?". I laugh again. This improvised refuge is starting to make sense, I feel like I am in a supermarket. Everyone here to talk to this chairman, and maybe we're his shopping list. A bench for two, for three, for a hundred, who knows how many? "

TBH I think AVB was a step too soon, good manager with a bigger ego than his only real job , made him think he could handle a dressing room of big personalities, which wasnt the case of course.
This is why Roman is now getting rid of the likes of Frank and ( soon) Terry and Cole. and next year you can put Cech on that list as well

He is basically doing what AVB wanted to do a year ago, but now the anti chelsea press have gone 180 degrees on him now and are saying he is showing them no loyalty ! and now all of a sudden he wants to jettison them?

Isnt this exactly what AVB was trying to do a year ago?
All Roman is doing now is reducing the power player in the dressing room and making it easier for the next manager next year.

Of course he cant win because the press have it in for him from day one .

No win situation, but I doubt he gives a toss . When push comes to shove all he wants is for the team to win. which is fine with me.

If people had seen some of lampards important games this year you would know he isnt worthy of another contract, especially as I suspect he is still asking for the region of 140k a week and Oscar is on 45 k

Pay a 35 year Old Lampard 145 k a week for another 2 years ( rumors he is asking for a 2 year contract and refused a one year deal last summer hence the club wont offer him a contract now )
OR
Tie up Brazils 20 year old #10 shirt icon Oscar at 45k a year with a 2 year extension through to 2019 ?

Hmm thats a tough one. I am sure Roman didnt make Billions by making sentimental decisions

Cheers Frank but for 145k a week, you can fuck off to LA Galaxy... No room for sentiment in this game.

The same Ashley Cole that has just signed a new contract yeah ?

Suburu just made you look daft , with all those quotes n now your back tracking . Admit it you wanted Pep:p

Like I said, find the quote where i said I wanted him to be our coach, as opposed to the one where I said Roman wanted him to be our coach or I expected Roman to hire him

The only reason Cole just signed is simple

Brings down the price when we swoop for Luke Shaw of course :)

Bertrand to Saints Plus £5 million for Shaw and we loan him back to Southampton :)
Contracts mean nothing thesedays, we all know that, they are just leverage for transfer fees, especially with big clubs Brimz

BTW COLE got a ONE year deal from Chelsea.

Funny cos all the gutter press were talking about for the last month was how PSG and Man United where going to give him a 3 year deal?
What the fuck happened to those deals??? Guess you have to ask his agent eh ? lol

Chelsea Club policy is that players over 30 only get rolling or 12 month fixed contracts. Its been like that since Ballack wanted a multi year deal.
So basically what people will admit now is Cole will stay at Chelsea for a year rather than go to Man United or Paris St Germain for 3 years ?

Speaks Volumes really that he would stay with us for a year RATHER than go to any of those 2 bit clubs on a 3 year deal.

Also Brimz dont be surprised of Courtois and Tomas Kalas sign new contracts as well, Its just a way to ramp up their transfer fees and ward off interest

In the UK we cant get those release clauses, so all the clubs can do is sign new contracts and rumor is Barcelona want to sign Tomas Kalas, hence we are ready to give him a new contract.

Next year our Croatian Goalie gets a work permit.
How is the GK situation ay Upton Park? I am sure you would like him ? we paid £4 million for him as a 16 year old

Already looks better than anything you guys have, you could have him on loan next year when he gets his permit

I think the key word there is "gutter press". I'd suspect that the media went "Cole hasn't signed a contract extension" + "Evra is a bit shit at the moment" = "United are interested in Cole". And I'm not sure that's true. I mean, fantastic player, goes without saying, but United aren't really in the business of signing older players - the general policy is to pick up the emerging talent (RvP as an exception, but it surprised me a lot when he signed).

All Pep did was get rid of the likes of Overmars,Petit,Cocu, Kluivert etc and draft in a couple of kids.

Bit hard when Pep was still playing football at the time, it was Rijkaard that fucked all the lads off.

Kluivert, Cocu & Overmars all left Barca '04, Petit left in '01. (I'll give you 3 guesses where Petit went lol?)

That's why you haven't been in the footy thread for ages man, you've been at home throwing darts at Pep's baldy noggin. There's no need to start bad mouthing Pep just because Chelsea didn't get their own way(Told the Rooski to it shove it up his fanny) :D

He did get rid of Ronaldinho, Deco(your mob), Eto'o eventually, Van Bommel, Zambrotta, Edmilson, Motta, Marquez, Giuly, many more, practically the bones of the team that won the Champions league, turn Barca into the best team in football and himself the best coach in their history. That's a little bit more than draft in a couple of kids and win 14/19 trophies with another geezer's team.

He has been erratic in the transfer market though. It'll be interesting to see how his Munich tenure goes before he takes over at United and tells a 49 year old Giggs to jog on.

I dont think you know too much about Chelsea, do you not know Deco came from DI VISSIER and when we signed Lucas Piazon we made a deal that if we let Deco back to Fluminense it was only on the condition that we can sign Wallace in return and on the condition that we could beat Juventus to the signing of Lucas Piazon and £11,000 a week ( which Juventus could not match) which is why his family turned down Juventus to sign for Chelsea

We also rushed an italian passport through for him as his grandfather is from verona, hence why he got a work permit for Chelsea

Its kind of like re reading the sound of backstepping from the City fans, hilarious really, "We NEED RVP, etc raving about how they would get him", followed by "hes an old, injury prone money grabber, only way is down for him now, etc etc etc" City fans where also raving about how Pep was going to be there next, all hoping. Followed by bitter comments of "UNPROVEN, is anyone else glad we didnt buy him etc"

:)

Of course I knew Deco came from DI VISSIER pffffff who doesn't.

I was the one who told you that.[/QUOTE

Funny cos you never said that.

The story goes something like this .....

This is basically how it went and why Juventus are so pissed at Chelsea.....

Di Vissier was Lucas Piazons "guy" the only reason he went to Chelsea instead of Juventus was cos he was tight with Roman

Piazons dad had a deal with Juventus they had a deal for Piazon to go to Juve for £8,000 a week, the deal was broken when Roman intervened and made sure he went to Chelsea instead and made sure that Piazons grandfather from Verona would get a EU passport meaning he could sign for Chelsea instead of Juventus

Piazon needed a euro passport to sign for Chelsea, but Chelsea realised that his grandfather was from verona , Italy
Therefore this is what happened....

Chelsea rushed through an Italian passport for both Piazon and his father ( his grandfather already had an italian ie EU passport)

Piazons family has italian heritage, hence Chelsea rushed through an Italian passport for him( piazons dad)

At this point Piazons dad was eligable to have his son transfer from brazilian nationality to European nationality

Chelsea then offered him £13,000 a week and £1 million cash down to his father and his family
Juventus got pissed as they could not match this for the hottest brazilian in years .....

You can read the story here

I love the football thread. I don't understand any of it but it is relentlessly on-topic and good natured. Well done soccer cunts!

Im liking that Suarez Sturridge partnership, on the same wavelength, compliment each other
Maybe they should do 'Dancing on Ice' together ?

Can see Spurs causing that Utd defence a lot of problems tomorrow. 3-1 win Defoe first half, then Bale, Defoe. Gutted for Sandro out for the season

United fans must be sick to the stomach watching Pogba for Juve. Scored two screamers tonight
