2012 - 2013 Football Thread

Pompey won at the weekend!! I've got a feeling that they'll get relegated again though, can't be easy with the whole squad on loan and most of the loan deals just temporary too, they are going to implode soon, it's inevitable, oh well :(


Anyone seen the thing about the croation football team that have a woman manager, is a first if I'm not mistake, a female manager of a male football team. Wonder how she'll do.

IMO this is one of the best Murals outside any ground.

I think it is the oldest Ground in Spain that is still in use .
 
I had the privilege last Saturday to see the Bit O Red aka Sligo Rovers win our first title in 35 years, and we won 3 2, after a going 2 0 up to our main challengers St Pats, they got it back to 2 each before we scored a penalty with a couple of doors minutes to go.

That sounds epic mate! Nothing like a late pen and you are champions! I used to play as Sligo on championship manager many moons ago.

Brimz I have seen Seville beat barca 3-2 at that fine ground. Spanish fans are great with their car keys and hankies!
 
Chelsea on the verge of signing Paulinho from Corinthians if todays press is to be believed.

Not sure where that leaves Romeu, I was always a big Romeu fan but never really had a chance . Especially when Andre Village Idiot left and RDM started to prefer Mikel.

The ref and groundsman should hang their heads in shame. The place has a fucking roof! Poor fans, must have cost a packet getting over there and for what??

Exactly, not to mention all of us at home who have timed massive benders this afternoon to coincide with kickoff time :)
 
Quite a few good games to wake up to this morning, Italy 3 - 1 Denmark, good game Balottelli scored a cracking goal and oddly enough even Montolivo managed to score, top of the group now. Need one new midfielder, Veratti of PSG maybe, to take Pirlo's place and another striker but the team looks decent enough, the U-21 is doing great too so there's plenty more to join the ranks.

The Serbia ruckus was to be expected, people do die at football matches over there and a lot of the hooligan elements are political, usually far right.

I saw his home debut for Porto he scored twice hasn't stopped since.

Falcao is brilliant, he's like Cavani but more physical, he would be perfect for Chelsea, I really hope they don't get him.
 
Just seen the footage of the Serbian U-21 game. Monkey chanting throughout, punches, kicks and headbutts being thrown around. That will be another €16000 fine.8)

The cynic in me thinks Poland may have left the roof open on purpose last night to catch us jaded and a bit off our game today, and looks like that is the case.

We should be trouncing them reallly, just read their most expensive player ever cost £4.3 Million.
We have sold trash like Michael Bridges and Emile Heskey for more than that.
