2012 - 2013 Football Thread

Great stuff from Brighton
FA cup still has a bit of magic left.

Pardew must be worried about his future, things went pear shaped after they gave him the 8 year contract lol, could only happen at Newcastle

Why would Pardew be worried? Imagine the pay-out if they have to sack him? :o

Backed Brighton for promotion at start of the season. They've been struggling a bit in the league but they're a good team.

^^
TLM .

Best book on footy tactics & psychology i've ever read you will lap it up. Marcoti is a very insightful , clever guy .

Yeah there is a good selection of books on the Cruyff Dutch teams & total football i've had a good look at one but then lost it when i moved .
I have a load of Boigraphies as well
Di Canio
Repknapp
Fergie
N Ronnie o Sullivan are a selection of the better ones i've read , what about you ?

I hear the amex is also one of the best grounds to visit
The Bar there is always supposed to have guest ales from the geographic area of the visiting team.

So I suppose today they had Nukie Brown on sale there .

Then again we dont really have fond memories of the place , having lost 3-1 in preseason there.
Made up for Brighton and Gus , Probably their biggest game since the FA Cup final and they didnt dissapoint

Yeah i would imagine i'll get on that .

Niall Quin is another one his auto bio is great reveals plenty about the drinking Culture especially when he was at Arsenal .

I must admit I havent read as many Bio's as possible. Most of the unauthorised ones end up at the quid shop anyways.
I laughed when Rooney released a biography at like age 22 !!

I read the Bobby Robson and Maradona ones and also the unauthorised books on Jose Mourinho and Roman Abramovich

One really good book if you like world football is Futebol The Brazilian Way of Life by Alex Bellos http://www.amazon.co.uk/Futebol-The-Brazilian-Way-Life/dp/0747561796/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1357396290&sr=8-1

There is also a brilliant documentary on Brazilian football called originally enough ...Futebol
Amazing 3 dvd set that follows young players, established players and former players ( 1 dvd on each) and then a great bonus dvd with interviews with players like Zico, Pele, Socrates etc
Cant be found cheap as chips on amazon, used like £3
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Futebol-DVD-Afonsinho/dp/B000EQHHEM/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1357396371&sr=8-5

I must have bought it 3 times already as im always lending it out and never get it back

Holy crap I just found this , a 5dvd set on the best players of all time.
Add to cart !! (I love impulsive shopping)

It will fill in those boring international breaks where there isnt a game for a few days lol

Bit of a shame they missed out Zola and Enzo Francescoli

Half time talk "Play it over the top", ok lads lets go.

Continue with the free kicks into the box from the other side of the pitch.

Am informed by my Newcastle supporting son that Pardew has a years paid salary as a release clause in his contract (ie when they sack him)

Kinda explains things a bit...
